I must say, I was one of the few lucky ones to see Salif Keita in concert on: April 9th. 2011 at the Apollo Theater in New York city. It is an experience of a life time that I will never forget. The Man is a dynamic singer. His voice explodes and eckoes like thunder inside the theater, which left the crowd on their feet all throught the show. you have to see this to believe it.
@mrtees2003 I saw hime twice. First time with M'Bemba songs and the laast time with a lot of La difference songs, which was less interesting! I LOVE M'Bemba and Moffou.
He does something to my soul. He is my favourite and always will be. And that is a strong statement coming from a 19 year old. I dream of seeing him in concert. Wish I knew what this song was about, anyone offer a translation please? Check the pic at 1:49, a handsome young Salif, lol... Love this man.

I have written a few comments with other songs, perhaps Bobo - M'Bemba is my favorite song. Salif Keita's dynamic voice is so powerful; it puts your soul and mind into another dimension. For me, this song brings so much memory. I listen to a man, an example to hard work and vision, and against all odds, has become a legend of his time. Sheik Salif Keita, I am proud of you, Africa is proud of you. I salute you with my affectionate love and respect.
@mrtees2003 I love Bobo, but I think Yambo and M' Bemba are the best songs of this album. This album is the best he made so fare i think! I play it often and placed a lot of songs from it at my youtube channels. I saw mister Salif Keita live in concert twice and it was great. But i must admit i liked his concerts af M' Bemba better that that after his new album (2010).
@channel4bernardo My favourite album has to be Amen. It is BEYOND EVERYTHING EVER! When I die, I want it in my coffin with me. It is THAT epic. Just beyond everything. Beyond! It was also released during my birth year (1991) which to me is a sign, haha! Nyanafin is possibly my favourite Salif song. But I can not really say, its hard, lol.
@mrtees2003 I think M'Bemba is his best album ever!! Second: Moffou. Best song ever is Mandjou, the original version from the seventies I guess. But thats my opinion. I wish there were more Salif Keita dvds. Songs I play the most are Yambo and Bobo.
magnifique ,tout simplement majestueuse
