Ahhh lol I was one of those 800 arrested in Leeds (funny)
One warehouse, the power had been cut by the cops so Tony “literally” got a hammer and knocked a hole right through the wall into next doors power supply, music came back on, Tony came back covered in plaster power in his hair *Which was funny* but he was a hero! lol
goin blackburn to party every wkend was epic...no doubt about it was the best ever.nothing has come close too bettering the raves in b/burn/darwin/leyland etc.....il never forget...good good people good good times...
A major fund raising campaign is under way to try & raise the funds to pay for the music used in the film. If not we're stuck with films like Weekender & Human Traffic..Is that what we really want left to document one of the biggest youth/music revolutions of our times. You can donate from just £3 on the highonhope website if you want to help get the film seen outside music festivals
@simonnowell Fair play to you fella but i don't think mass unemployment and the government had anything to do with the rave explosion. We went on holiday in '88, found ecstasy and loved it that much we brought it back. It was the effects of ecstasy that drove us on. It was really that simple
Surely the people who own the music you want would be happy to donate for free??
If not-name em and shame em as without those records getting played at that time to those crowds, they wouldn't have sold a copy.
On another note-just watched "weekender"-what a joke. Beyond bad. They had music in 1990 that wasnt even invented then! And dont get me started on the clothes! Top promoter wears same england top for 4 years? The acting was bad enough without the dodgy 'special effects' etc
Was a bit too young for this at the time,,,, was still going Manhatten Heights under 18s at that time ..... I remember us hearing 'Live the dream' going on whilst stood at the shops in Holly Tree Village...
couldnt agree with u there more, if i had the money i would organise one.. but ''Boomtown' is as close as its comin i think,, someone just needs the bottle to throw some tickets out, start small,, then break the 10,000 people reords :P in somewhere on the greenbelt of blackburn :D
it peaked in the summer of love 1990 all those who partyed after were part of the jilted generation..besides the chunes turned shite n a decent trAck was far n few between in them days i quit partying in 91...when the piss head kevins started taking over the scene

@simonnowell Sorry mate but the real party people have no desire for mass publicity. We know what happened and it belongs to us ;-)

@CelticProgeny Mass Unemployment , Tory Government , I just fancy reliving the dream :-) It's a great film which deserves a wider audience IMO.

Ecstasy wasn't a pill, it was a seed.
A seed that grew it's roots in the mind of it's host devouring any thoughts of negativity and blossoming into a rush of positive creativity.
Hardcore Uproar were the gardeners :)
