wauw ... perfect. I remember I was 2 yrs and 4 months when i ski'd solo, I was also a year and a half when my parents first taught me how to ski. If I look back at it, I'm 29 yrs old now, I'm glad they did it. I'm a ski instructor now, I just love skiing. Too bad there's no mountains where I live, otherwise I'd do it every day of my life. She's a winner, she's a keeper. I should send her to a skiing team !! She'd do well ;) !!

@websitewaves I was an instructor for 9 years and I have seen lots of good 4 year olds ripping down the hills but very few with such control. She is good. Very good.

I love to watch her ski. I have started showing the video to my own 4 year old who will be starting this year. He loves to watch her too and he can't wait to get started. He now considers Ariane to be his personal friend!

Thanks for your comments. However, not many kids under the age of 7 can flex their ankles forward correctly as they're simply not strong enough to do it. This expains the backseat position. It'll only get better from now on as she grows stronger. Cheers.

She's awesome. For anyone teaching little people it usually involves a leash at some point. To keep the leash from encouraging the backseat problem I wrap it just above the knees which helps forward position. We also encouraged our kids as toddlers to "use their pointer", both hands together out front pointing where you want to go. Hope this helps someone.

I can think of a few... but they need to work on turning position because that's where they all find themselves throwing all their weight on their outside ski and just barely making it. But I'd love to meet this girl, She's really amazing and honestly, the parents must be righteous. Where are you guys from any way? In the U.S? if so west or east? I'm northwestern near like Mnt Snow, and kinda near J Peak...not really though.

We live in Prévost, Québec, which is about 30 miles north of Montréal. We ski at Vallee Bleue ski resort most of the time. However, we make the occasional trip to the USA. Last winter we went to Cannon Mountain NH. I'll let you know when we return next winter. Take care.

Thanks for your comments. Arianne has just completed Children STEP "F" on March 8th 2008.

She'd like to join the local ski racing Club next season in the Nancy Greene Ski League.

About her poles: she carries them mostly to help her move on flat terrain.

This year, her big breakdown was to be able to get on a chairlift alone with her poles, which is not bad considering that she is 3'6" tall (106 cm).
