No one really knows. But we have reason to believe that it was not a loyalist primarch. My personal theory is that it is either Horus, or Alpharius.

well i might have to look into that. i would still like to see one by dan abnett involving them and their further involvement during the heresy. even if it were just short stories giving insight into their chapter. you get good views of alot of chapters during the heresy books but the iron hands are kind of glimpsed over.

Because it contradicts the previous fluff, which GW and BL love to do (i like it aswell!) or it might be part of the redesighn process that they seem to always be going through.

Dan, i would suggest a iron hands novel. i have never seen any novel or short story about the iron hands and i think you would accomplish it beautifully
