I've read "An Unquiet Mind" many times over the past years and I can't even begin to express how important it was to me. I owe a lot to that woman and to her courage, she has no idea...
Seems like he, admittedly a lay person, elicits some fairly interesting responses for his audience at the expense of sounding ignorant. But isn't that the point of an interview, to inform the uniformed? Keep in mind there's a wide scope of people, with varying exposure to the disease, the interviewer is asking for.

whatever your opinion about what she has said, it took a lot of guts for her to put her career on the line to tell the world her story.

Why is this interviewer so woefully undereducated on this subject? Some of the questions he asks are painfully embarrassing and somewhat idiotic.
