  • thumbs up if you're here from hearing noel gallaghers interview of john simm on radio 2 the other day

  • He's so cute when he dances!

  • John Simm reminds me of Thom Yorke here.

  • Docta!!!!!! Master is drunc!!! Get him!!!!!

  • I wish I was at that concert so much.

  • 2 words to describe this..... PURE CLASS!

    John/ Hooky <3

  • Ach, too slow.

  • jesus! John Sim has made a complete twat of himself here! i am cringin for him!

  • @MOONST0MP

You're a complete cunt for saying that about Simm (and spell it properly next time). It probably had a few cocktails and really didn't want to be up there. Ass.

  • @Kilmer5 Oooops, He not It (I was thinking of moonstomp there for a second).

  • @Kilmer5 Cocktails??? What the fuck you on about? Stupid cunt!

  • @MOONST0MP Cocktails, booze, beers, shots ... you ignorant ass.

  • @Kilmer5 Do you say John Simm drinks cocktails?? I didnt even know he was gay!

  • @MOONST0MP: No sense of humor, aye?

  • JOHN!!!!

  • It's just so hard to imagine John Simm, that shy guy on scene is The Master in disguise! :P

  • I love John Simm! :D

  • I love John's dorky "Jip just had sex with Nina" celebration dance at 3:15. Was the leather jacket the one he wore in The Lakes?

  • Sorry Koop, I meant LULU!

  • I rue the day they went 'Dance', if only.

  • Excellent!

  • thanks for posting this :D

    love this song :D

  • 3/4 of Joy Division is still Brilliant !!!

  • Oh My GOD where was this?! That's amazing... i love it ha!

  • sorry but Ian will never have a replacement, he was unique

  • no one is trying to 'replace' him, there simply filling in for a fallen soldier...surely people who play instruments and do backing vocals are free to do with THERE music as they please, its as much there's as it is Ian's...give them some props for being a living memory...

  • Concordo...

Fa un pezzo di scala armonica che non centra un cazzo :S

  • ITS SAM TYLER! :D

  • absolutely brilliant

they have dedicated numerous songs to ian curtis over the years...and he is dead nearly 30 yrs after all!!

  • dedicated to John Simm with all respect to him because he's one of my favourite actors but if they're going to play one of they're Joy Division songs why not dedicate it to Ian Curtis too?.

  • Dude, they ARE Joy Division :-D Just changed name and they are without Ian... coz hes dead.

  • dude i do know that i'm a huge Joy Division/New Order fan.

  • OMG you can really see he's authentically shy in this video, that he doesn't just say it to look better. The guy could not be more self-conscious. He's so cute it's criminal.

  • John Simm is an actor who starred in 'Life on Mars', 'The Devils Whore' and played the Master on 'Doctor who'

  • and played Bernard Sumner in 24 Hour Party People and Jip in Human Traffic :)

  • Feel it closing in...

    Feel it closing in...

The fear of whom I call,

    Everytime I call...

  • John Simm was out watching Bernard Sumner before he played his part. Bernard did not know who he was at the time and noticed that he was watching him, so he went up to John and asked who the f##k are you looking at. True story !

  • poor guy

  • Great video mate everyone feel free to take a look at my vids and dont 4 get to comment thank u by the way joy division rock

  • where was this?

  • this was filmed at finsbury park,9th june 2002,you can buy the dvd of the gig,its well worth buying it just to hear new order singing temptation its superb, cheers.

  • john simm with some classic uncle at a wedding dancing

  • Probably why they didn't get him to play Bez.

  • wahahahaha poor John Simm looks so uncomfortable, bless him. <3

  • John is the best!! :)

  • john is so cool ,freaking lovely

  • bloody love new order. bloody love joy division. and bloody love john simm. But what on earth was he like dancing in the backround? wasnt his fault like, they invited him on then gave him nout to do! anyway, very odd! but cool, in a way...

  • HaHA cute john. :)

  • No, it's not the same without Ian. I still love New Order, and seeing them perform this made my evening a bit happier. And John Simm will always be adorable. (Or is that "adorkable"? Either way, I just want to scritch him.) <3

  • TOO SLOW!

  • these guys are in their fifties now...give them a break!

  • They invited him to the stage, I guess they really wanted him there. He's a great actor and he's also got a great voice and he did a lot for Joy Division and New Order because of "24 Hours Part People" and other stuff. He is one of the reasons I got into those two bands and I love them.

  • It's overboard to say that this version sucks due to the death of Ian. Yes, its not the same and it would be made better by having Ian sing it, but New Order survived and they made a wonderful contribution to music.

Joy Division and New Order are each wonderful in their own right.

And John Simm...he's just damn adorable.

  • i feel a bit sick now after watching this ,

  • Such a lucky fuck! I mean embarrassing yeah? But amazing!

  • bernard doesnt have that voice but there good though

  • Barely as much fun as when Ian sang it.

  • i agree.

without ian is just not the same.

  • I wonder what the deal was with Barney and Peter interrupting each other at the beginning. Some bad vibes even then?

  • Oh was is Barny singing off then? Haha.

  • i love joy division but barny sumner CANT sing

john simm was good though :)

  • ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh por john looks so embarassed!

love u john & gotta love New Order

  • WOW!!!! PARTY!!!!!!!

  • YO!

  • hahahaha i've just realised how stupid my question was by looking up new order... hahahaha... never mind my previous comment!

    Love this song!

  • This could be a really stupid question but did New Order ever record this song or was it just one they did live? I've been looking for their version of it everywhere because i really like and I can't find it!

  • This song it's from the Joy Division era. You can find this tune in the "Substance 1977-1980" compilation.

  • i don't think anyone could replace ian but i do like tis version by n o

  • yay, two of my favourite things at once...

  • This is just... too much. Too much awesmoness. I can't handle it. (: John is so feraking sexy here, and New Order, and them together, rrrr!

  • john simm looks wasted lol

  • perhaps he was... *shrug* getting wasted can be pretty fun!

  • i never said it was a bad thing! just funny!

  • lol i never said you said it was a bad thing- i agree! 'tis funny!

  • Its a bit slower than the original, but still top!

  • I agree, New Order r amazing, they obviously wer affected badly by the death of Ian but I find it so couragous of them 2 carry on pioneering that electro sound.

    Even Simm loves them lots

  • WTF is all the player hating on New Order for playing Joy Division stuff about?

This is a great rendition of a great song. New Order can fuckin play

  • He looks so thrilled to be up there *sarcasm*

  • love john love the jacket!

  • god JD is the best and thne new order did a gret job here..

I love Ian curtis may he rest in peace for eternity

  • oh god...he's drunk...but still freaking hot as hell!

  • absolutely gogeous though

  • <3 John's dancing!

  • don't think so, this was way before lom

  • Omg, John Simm iz so hot. x

  • Is he wearing the leather jacket from "Life on Mars"?

  • They totaly lack the attitude.

  • They totally lack what attitude??

  • i love john simm.

    :)

  • respect - thought i can't help it thinking of how much more beautiful this video would be if curtis was on the vocals

  • "respect - thought i can't help it thinking of how much more beautiful this video would be if curtis was on the vocals"

    I think the same way.

  • he shouldn't scratch his armpit in public lol

  • Very interesting, I am wondering why John Simm was on stage, is he a friend of the band, or some other reason part of the show. I am not familiar with this band.

  • He played one of the band members in the film "24 Hour Party People".

  • oh, they were called Joy Division before...

  • great song! can't find it anywhere.. And John does look kinda wasted :) really cute how he's just sort of strolling around that stage

  • Ohhhh, I just adore John Simm, he's so cute!!!

  • He's cuter than cute in this!

I really want to see Elling but am in two minds, however, I think I would give my right arm to have him shake my hand.

PS Seen New Order live lots, aren't they getting porky now!

PPS Not seen 24 Hour Party People but I heard him talking about it in an interview so I guess I have to see it now!

    What a ldge!

  • excellent

  • Is there anything this man can't do, whilst looking incredibly cute and sexy!!!

  • Bless john

    hes so adorably cute

  • John simm i luurrvvee you!!!

  • Love John! - he's really shy so know wonder he got pissed to get up there Bless him! x

  • Lookes scared as fuck, but what a song haha! I'm loving this though!

  • Haha John Simm is ace!As is New Order!

  • What a dude. He looks wasted! but still so cool. You can buy this concert on DVD. its AMAZING.

  • what gig was this by the way?

  • Finsbury Park (see earlier posts). I was there and didn't realise who John Simm was (do now - saw him in a play at the weekend). Now, which one is the professional singer, him or Barney????

  • "ELLING?" Great, wasn't it?

I saw it on Monday and was on the FRONT ROW and shook his hand after! AMAZING!

  • Yep - saw it on Friday (1st night, I think?), but halfway back, so no handshake! Agree, really funny and well-acted. Amazing how much older (and more square) he looked, until he had his hair ruffled - took years off him. I might try the same in the hope that it'll do the same for me :-)

Show that he can really act! They did a really good job, as they were competing against the Tour de France show outside, which was really loud!

  • Yeah, man. Right on with the hair. Although the coolest was that when he shook my hand (At the back door after the show) we was wearing a LEATHER JACKET!

    SAM TYLER!

  • hahaha drunk but still slightly crowd shy. Brilliant!

  • its a shame Sean Harris who played ian curtis wasnt there that would have been amazing and ralph little should have been there to

  • Dude, he's drunk off his head! He's so hot though : D!

  • where and when did this take place

  • london, finsbury park, 2002

  • thanks for letting me know it looked at great night

  • John Simm is brilliant, 24 hour party people was a great film Joy division/New order great music to

  • Brilliant.

  • John Simm is awesome.

  • Is that...Sam Tyler's Jacket? Amazing!

  • YES, YES IT IS. God, he's so lovely. Haha. Very drunk, by the looks of it, too.

  • man, simm is sooooo hawt

  • Cool. Ich verstehe bloß nicht, warum der New-Order-Frontman ständig nach John schreit - der ist doch nicht taub !!!

Ich mag John Simm in LIFE ON MARS. Hoffentlich startet bald die 2. Staffel.

Cool. But I cannot understand why the New-Order-Frontman is always crying out for John - he isn´t deaf !!!

I like John Simm on the show LIFE ON MARS. I hope Season two is coming soon.

  • its on here in england now. and its brilliant (:

  • John Simm is hot!

  • John Simm. What a dude!!

  • Day In Day Out Day In Day Out Day In Day ouuuuuuuuuuuttttttttttttttt!

  • Briliant
