Sweet! That's a massive investment in a car, and it's good to see the owner is doing more with it than keep it on a lift and polish it. Muscle cars were meant for the track. I've got a COPO Camaro for sale, actually, in my channel videos.
I am normally the guy who would prefer "all original" when talking cars. However, due to the fact that I'm not swimming in money I see nothing wrong with building or having a ZL-1 built for you. You can't smell or taste original, so if you have an actual 69 Camaro with a 427 all aluminum motor that is for all intents and purposes a 69 ZL-1 clone, I'm ok with that. As a matter of fact, there's a guy in Longmont Colorado who builds them exactly like they were new, only better.
"Its not numbers matching". WHAAAAAA...Fuck numbers matching! Go fret about how much overspray should be on your nos battery cable. Fuck them hanger queens. That Camaro is doing what it should; vaporizing dinosaur remains! Thats my kind of global green tree hugging goodness.
WHAT THE HELL DOES IT MATTER? all it is is a camaro with a big engine...so yea theyre rare as hell.....but you can build a far better car or a faster car for less money and make it look the same ITS ALL STEEL cars are cars geez........
@Monst3r177 Actually a zl1 copo in 2009 one sold for $320000 in arizona and even a standard one is worth at the least 250000. So you can go fuck yourself.
@00000stephen ok maybe it sold for that much at AUCTION but no a private seller is not going to get $400,000 for a COPO you can clone a regular 1969 Camaro and get about $90,000 if done right
@00000stephen so you would rather pay your "$400,000" for a COPO then pay $120,000 for a clone? if you ask me thats a waist of money on COPO thats being dragraced
@00000stephen . ZL1 is ultra rare. 250 000-320 000 is not 400 000 lol Standard Copo would be lucky to get 200 000. Have to be 100% original driving line and Fully Restored Perfectly.
@acemaster1001 whatever. Im a ford guy not a chevy guy anyway, if you asked me about a mustang or galaxie i could talk for hours. Origionaly I was really just commenting on what a cool car it is but that guy made it personal.
@acemaster1001 ZL1's easily go for 500k + if you can find one for sale that's a numbers matching survivor. watch barrett jackson COPO's fetch big money. personally I think it's awesome this guy is running the hell out of his I mean it's what they were built to do! it's not like he cut the car up really bad can always go back and restore to showroom cudos to the owner!
@brgable . It would 5 years ago. COPO's and alot of rare muscle cars today don't bring in anywhere near what they used to 5-8 years ago. Most COPO's today are lucky to bring in $120,000. 5 years ago the same car would go for $180-$ 220,000
well i dont think that engines stok hahaha still kinda hard to believe its a copo but i must not know enough abt the copos even though we just restored a 1 of 1 yellow with yellow interior. oh well just dont wreck it cuz thatd be a heartbreaker
What a *great* video of Dana's Berger COPO! I was lucky in that I got to see it run at Martin this year...leaves straight as a string, then it's gone!!!!

@Monst3r177 Yes, any day. Nobody cares about a clone, they only care about the real thing. For 120k I would much rather have a vintage 427 vette.

who would guess that a big hunk of metal could run down the track as fast as a veyron or an ultimate aero
zackin2001 2 years ago
everyone who knows anything about cars. super cars arent fast they are just expensive and top out at 300KM
myleskubicek 2 years ago

Amazing!....That's a museum piece running on that track. Most would be afraid to drive that down the street let alone down the track.
Great way to enjoy a true treasure.

Yes it is a real Berger COPO. A friend of mine owns the car. He bought the car in 1977 and has keep the car all these years.
ERICFORTUIN 3 years ago
your one of the few luckiest people to race on of these and who can blame him for keeping the car for all that time
