LOL! It's not the biggest one I own, but it's my favorite oversized pipe in terms of smoking and wood quality (unfortunately, I didn't have it it back in October last year, else I'd have brought it along!)
Hey BriarCub!....you say this IS'NT the biggest pipe you own?!!.....May I ask what that would be then??
( I have just aquired from ebay, the most BEAUTIFUL, enourmous mario grandi all-smooth, gorgiously-grained, walnut-stained ultra-giant.....hav'nt given her a full-bowl yet...breaking her in slowly!!)
Wow, I didn't even know they had such beautiful tobacco pipes. I collect Randall and Lee knives so your hobby is quite similar mine! Do you have any suggestions on where to start learning about custom pipes? My buddy Tim is into pipe tobacco so it would be nice to surprise him with a quality piece.
You're quite welcome, Michael! I'll be sure to include a few more close-ups when I put these up in the future. Keep the great jazz and pipe videos coming :-)
I really appreciate that ;-) Whew--it seems like it has been forever since I've seen you guys--well, we're not letting a little snow get in our way *this* year, that's for sure!! I recall you picked out a couple of fine pieces yourself last time around (was it really two years ago??) and I'm looking forward to seeing what you get this time :-)
Unfortunately I'm going to be somewhat strapped this year, so I will have to see. Paige's new roommate is also a pipe smoker, and a much more avid and sophisticated collector than I am. He is really looking forward to the show.
It's great to hear from both of you as well!! Mind you, I'd hate to think of that block's being broken into two or three pipes--I suppose you want this one added to your 'will' list as well? ;-)
Thanks so much for the vote of confidence!! I expect to have another one up soon (though I prefer to do these when I have natural daylight coming in--something in short supply around here this time of year, LOL!) But I do need to make good on my promise to follow up!
