On the positive side, her wrestling days were over, so the angle with Edge gave her one last chance to be on center stage. Unfortunately, her injuries and long absences kept her from making as big of an impact as she could have. I think that she could have been at least as big as Trish is.

I hear you, but that's a fundamental disagreement that we have. I'd put Trish above all of her contemporaries. When Lita was on top, she was as big as anyone. However, she didn't stay on top very long, and she didn't develop her character and move-set as much as Trish Stratus did. For someone who wasn't around for very long to be a "best ever" contender, her/his run would have to be white hot (see: Steve Austin). In wrestling history, Trish will rank higher.
@vincentrich I would rank her higher than Lita but Lita & Trish were on the same level for a long time. Before Lita went heel & Trish retired, they were on the same level IMO. Trish really changed her moveset and improved immensely. I will say that she was a great wrestler and great on the mic. Better heel than Lita IMO. Trish definetely made an impact in the WWE, I won't deny that, same for Chyna but without Lita, Trish wouldn't have had that classic rivalry she had with Lita.
In the end, I don't think that they were at the same level. Their feud was one of the best in recent diva history, but Trish was the top dog at that point. Lita started out as the top girl, but didn't last for long enough. She was cleared to wrestle, but she didn't. Regardless of the circumstances, Trish was just as popular for a longer time and had better character dev. That puts her higher on the list IMO. As far as Matt goes, he turned into a whiner.

On the positive side, her wrestling days were over, so the angle with Edge gave her one last chance to be on center stage. I hear you, but that's a fundamental disagreement that we have. I'd put Trish above all of her contemporaries. When Lita was on top, she was as big as anyone. However, she didn't stay on top very long, and she didn't develop her character and move-set as much as Trish Stratus did. Trish really changed her moveset and improved immensely. I will say that she was a great wrestler and great on the mic. Better heel than Lita IMO. In the end, I don't think that they were at the same level. Their feud was one of the best in recent diva history, but Trish was the top dog at that point. Lita started out as the top girl, but didn't last for long enough. She was cleared to wrestle, but she didn't. Regardless of the circumstances, Trish was just as popular for a longer time and had better character dev. That puts her higher on the list IMO. As far as Matt goes, he turned into a whiner.

Lita had no choice because she was getting slut chants and was lower on the totem pole. The only person who could have resisted and had pull in the situation was Edge, and he decided not to. I do think it would've been better for Matt if he came up with a better gimmick afterwards. He basically stayed the same character.
