i own one of those. try going to wal-mart and by those little 10 lb. chains. i made tire chains out of them and i built a ply wood snow plow and it works like a beast. look up rc snow chains and theres a guy who shows you how to make them. i used 25 feet of chain and its 6 bucks for 20 feet of chain. best 12 bucks ever spent! i can plow light snow in the cold without even stepping outside. just hot glue and tape over the wires and the battery compartment!
the honcho would do better due to the fact that it has a LOCKING differental.. where all wheels turn at the same time... if 1 wheel is stuck.. it doenst matter since that 1 wheel will be turning @ the same speed as the other 3.. even if 1 is in the air.. it wouldnt spin any faster than the other 3 wheels that have traction
i used to have it.. until the steering got fried... now i got a Axiel SC10 Honcho TR -- its around $400 but runs like a charm... i havent tried it in snow but in offroad it certainly does better than the tundra.. im not saying the tundra is bad.. i had it and <3 it.. the reason why your tundra couldnt get thru some of the snow is cuz of its open diff.. if 1 wheel slips/ 1 has traction.. it will send more power to the spinning wheel.. which is what we DONT WANT.. just saying lol
i got the same thing. yours does so much better in the snow. and it goes farther and faster. mine is always getting stuck. anyway i can fix that, do ya know? and if you didnt already waterproof the battery, i would. and wrap some electrical tape around the wires to prevent them from getting wet from the snow melting.
maybe try to put better quality batteries in the remote bc that happend to me at the begining but then i tried better batteries and now it goes 150 feet brfore it starts cutting out
