Do You Read to Your Kids - or Did Your Parents Read to You?

My Mother read to me as a child. I was reading before I went into Kindergarten. In the schools I went to, I would get very bored during reading time. I didn't like sitting down and listening to the teacher reading a chapter of Charlotte's Web or Harry Potter because my mind wanders when I do not have the book in my hands to read.

If anything, the number one distraction when it comes to reading was my Mother telling me to go to bed.

Let me guess: Public school? I've done both. Liked homeschooling better.

Believe me, I had more freedom, better social life, and better education homeschooling.

I could have been the school I went to, which is why I'm homeschooling. I don't want my kids going to a school that's the butt of everyone's joke in this area.
