I made different script that used IR to aim and it was horrible. If the game had mouse support, it could have worked better, but emulating digital joypad controls with the IR sensor has horrible results.

Good call. To this day I have not found a RPG that can draw me in like Dragoon Saga did. Even the FF games dont come close. I would LOVE to play it again... hint hint Nintendo.

Nintendo bought Sega. Thats why you will find Sonic on a lot of Wii games.

yea... have u heard of team andromeda??? they were the best... but when they did panzer dragoon saga team andromenda separet for some reason... if they had stick together, theire games could go for PS2 or PS3,... and they could create the best RPG ever, even supass the FF series, believe it!!!!

The story I heard was due to two deaths in the team, and the (relative) lack of sales, Team Andromeda split. A lot of the team then went on to create Panzer Dragoon Orta as Smilebit, but have since disbanded again.

As a followup... I'm aware that the sensor bar is just an IR emitter, I ask because I'm unsure how the Wiimote tracks movement when used with the PC

The Remote has accelerometers which can detect tilt and gravitational forces. The script demonstrated in this video uses the accelerometers. To use the IR sensing functionality, you need an IR source like the Sensor Bar, or candles or whatever you find works.

This version of the script does not. I made an updated version that supports it, but I'm not yet satisfied that it's an improvement on my motion-only input, so I'll be holding off on releasing it for the time being.

When I first started writing the script, it was murder on the wrist. But I tuned it to require less movement, and now it's a lot of fun to play.
