  • I would be grateful if someone could send me the original/ukrainian lyrics of this song!!

  • By the way - it is song about soviet invasion on Poland in 1939

There is a Whiterussian (not White Guard of course) Cossacks

NOT Zaporozhian like on the picture.

If you really think that is full version of "Kazaki - Kazachenky" you must know about:

1)"we're waiting 20 years and now you're here!" - We all know 1918-1939 it was interwar period.

    2) One (soviet) verse was cut -

    Greetings from "Pan's Poland"

  • If we question for how many centuries is the longing for free spirit integrated in Russian, Ukrainian... life, it is obviously that its roots are deeper than that of Communist period.

Is their face in God the fountain of such spirit? What else? You might interpret the history as you wish, but listening to this music as musician, and you might wounder how to compose such harmony? I wish you good luck trying.

In our Croatian music I can hardly find something similar...

E sad, intepretiraj historiju kako hočeš, no pokušaj kao muzičar kreirati sličnu harmoniju, ajde ako si dobar... U našoj Hrvatskoj glazbi ovako nešto nije lako pronači...

    Živjela brača Kazaki !

  • Jestem w Połowie Kozakiem, w połowiePolakiem. Jestem z tego dumny!

  • The problem with this video that a Russian song about red Army cossacks is attached to a picture of 17 century of Ukrainian Cossacks with Bohdan Khmelnytsky in front of them when Ukraine was part of Polish Commonwealth.

What relation Soviet times have to do with Ukrainian Liberation war of 17 century is beyond me.

You must correct your mistake, you owe it to a great nation.

  • @MsOKZS Taking into consideration the Treaty of Pereiaslav, it actually makes perfect sense. Russians and Ukrainians have a shared heritage, being the Kievan Rus, and it was under Khmelnysky that they were reunited. This is not to say that Ukrainians and Russians are the same, far from it, but there is definitely a similar culture, particularly amongst the cossack peoples. Lest we forget there has been a strong resurgence of "cossack pride", especially during the Soviet period.

  • If anyone interested to learn history of Ukraine on Youtube you can find a documentary made by

JERZY HOFFMAN, called "UKRAINE-THE BIRTH OF THE NATION."2008

It has 4 chapters. The film is dedicated to the birth, development and establishment of the Ukrainian nation from ancient times to the present. In the film assigned materials that Jerzy Hoffman collected personally. It is somewhat concise at times, but is is fair and does presents facts as they are. It says where Cossacks are from.

  • the Cossacs - not ukranian!!!!!! ONLY RUSSIAN!!!!

  • @saxonez your all slavs at the end of the day

  • @nomorenigsplease Hahaha yeah so true!

  • pripyev:

"Казаки, да казаки, просим вас до хаты,

Заходите в гости к нам, красные солдаты!

Заходите в гости к нам, долго не видались,

Двадцать лет мы ждали вас, наконец дождались!" (1939)

its like 20 years after the revolution, why would the sensors allow word of a tsarist contingent? or am i mistaken?

  • @severrnijKGU Not all the cossacks were against the communists. In fact, there were several Cossack divisions in WW2 who fought in Soviet Army. This fragment you've posted here are refrain that goes after first couplet:

Казаки, да казаки, ай да казаченьки

    Проходили поутру села-деревеньки,

    Проходили поутру деревеньки-села,

    Выходили девушки к казакам веселым.

Two last lines says that on the morning Cossacks are passing through villages and ladies are greeting them with words in refrain.

The Cossacks those Coassacks dashingly replied:

We go to war today for our horses are not tired

We go to war today for our swords are sharp

We shall return girls, dear sisters!

  • 2nd verse

"Казаки, да казаки, просим вас до хаты,

Заходите в гости к нам, долго не видались,

Двадцать лет мы ждали вас, наконец дождались! 2x

  • Every time I listen to this song I get chills sent through out my body and great memories of the great nation of USSR! How I miss you Mother Land!

  • cossacks kick ass

  • I'm born Canadian. Slavic roots. This, more than any other music, song, the most emotionally arousing.

  • Would this song have existed before the fall of Tsarism, or are there many patriotic songs around about the cossacks during imperial Russia?

  • @ClassicalMonarchism No, it is soviet song and it was written about 1939.

  • @Olga32555, Odd that, considering that the Cossacks were loyal to the Tsar throughout. Also the fact that the Communists actually tried to suppress Cossack culture and attempts for independence!

  • @ClassicalMonarchism The part of cossacks (minority) supported bolsheviks during the revolution 1917 and civilian war. And majority who fighted against comminists were ruthlessly repressed .

• everyone with socialist/communist beliefs can just go to north korea and see how u like it there

  • @yuriytheinfidel

You do realize that there is a distinct difference between Socialism/Communism and Leninism as well as its variants (as employed in China AND North Korea.)

Perhaps you should learn the difference before making such a statement.

  • @CEShannVfB who gives a shit, until u live in one of those countries no matter what its called its still all the same. there is no freedom so quit talking bout how everything is better on the other side. world would do much better wthout people like u.

  • @yuriytheinfidel

They only reason such systems exist is because of people like you who assume the are already experts on the foundational and ideological structures and in truth no nothing. The world would do much better without people who, rather than educate themselves on ideas and their various pros and cons, demonize them.

  • @CEShannVfB to u its a system but to me its personal, my family lived in that kind of system, my grandparents went to prison bc of their religious beliefs! the state didnt even allow them to own a Bible! my parents with great grades in school couldnt even go to college bc they were christians. it dont matter if u were christian or not but most people lived in fear, what kind of a government is good that causes people to live in fear? it trns people into animals.

  • @CEShannVfB i mean in a republic the politicians are animals but atleast they have a choice

  • Best music ever !!!!

  • @agrizic

    Vazda. :)

  • where can I find the picture???

  • @Kuzmin1981 Oh Kuzmin, you are correct that we are of one blood, BUT if you try to compare Russians and Ukrainians here in Cleveland - you will surely get your head ripped off. It just seems that most Ukrainians here hate Russians - an probably justifably because of the oppressive old Soviet regimes against the Ukes. Even went you started speaking Russian at a Ukrainian gathering, you were automatically branded. Believe me - I know from personal experience.

  • @Kuzmin1981 Russia, Ukraine, Belorus - and there is Saint Rusi.

  • @ENIGMA10293 I agree with you and Kuzmin1981

All Slavs are one blood and one day we have to stop the propaganda of oligarchs that devides and and only hurts our people!

Greetings to all the Slavs - you are beautiful people and have beautiful culture such as this great Russian-Cossack song!

  • I HATE AMERICAN POLITICS

  • @N3B0R3D FROM WIKIPEDIA: According to legend Lviv was founded by King Daniel of Galicia in the Ruthenian principality of Halych-Volhynia and named in honour of his son Lev. When Daniel died Lev made Lviv the capital of Galicia-Volhynia.[3] The city is first mentioned in the Halych-Volhynian Chronicle which dates from 1256. Lviv is ukrainian city!!! Polish captured it in 1349!

  • Long live Ukraine and Russia!

  • Sche ne vmerla Ukraina!!

  • @Kuzmin1981 pretty much all of eastern Europe is Slavic... dumbass do some research

  • Rusya'yı kuran zaten kazaklardır.İsmine aldanmayın.Kökleri,Rusya'da ilk krallığı kuran Vikinglere dayanır.Korkunç ivan zamanında toprak serfi olmayı reddettikleri için ilk ukraynaya, sonra Türkiye'ye göç etmişlerdir.Meydanda mujiklere, slav kökenli ruslara kalmıştır.Zaten Rus kelimesi de Norveççeden gelir.

  • Kazaklar 250 sene türkiye,ısparta'da yaşamışlardır.Sevdiğim bir millettir.

  • Sche ne vmerla Ukraina!

  • @LEOPARDTWO True that! Ukraine will never perish! This Black Welsh/Finnish woman admires Russian/Ukrainian culture and people. Slavic choral music rocks!

  • Correct me if Im wrong but was not expancion of Imperial Russia based heavily to coloniasation and vanguarding done by Cossacks ? Cossack in general have been depicted in unfair and biased light in west.

  • Don cossacks- Are the the real cossacks of Russia. Urkraine is our brotherland.

  • @Kuzmin1981 The REAL Ukraine, the center and eastern side. Not the western side that was always Poland. Those Ukies try to hard to by Ukrainian.

  • western side of Ukraine doesn't "try" to be Ukrainian, they ARE and also they speak UKRAINIAN unlike central and eastern side where Stalin killed ukrainians and replaced them with people from russia, the rest of ukrainians there were russified by decades of soviet occupation, aslo western Ukraine was part of Kievan Rus from beginning, quit listening ro Kremlin propoganda

  • @Frankivchanyn So youre saying that Lviv was not a polish city? You clearly listened to the propaganda of the Ukrainians who sided with Hitler for freedom.

  • @N3B0R3D many buldings in Lviv were built by polish occupiers, but the city itself was part of Kuiven Rus, also ukrainians sided with Nazis only in the beginning and after Germans didn't like the idead of Ukraine's independence they fought against them, i dont support the idea of collaborating with germans but its what ukraininan patriots thought was the best thing to do in that difficult time

  • Cossacks were fierce warriors! Proud to be Ukrainian.

  • @2009stalker Proud to be a Kuban cossack.

  • @Kuzmin1981 When did the Ukraininas abandon the Poles?

  • I am so proud ,my grand/grand father was ATAMAN OR HETMAN as you wish, lidder of Cossack

  • I am so proud ,my grand/grand father was ATAMAN OR HETMAN as you wish, lidder of Cossack

  • nice song about Ukrainian Cossacks how kind of our little brother to sing it for us make me what to hug them.

  • Cossacks seemed like great fighters

  • @BMBaccount

They were. I am from Poland so i know. When in XVII century Ukraine had been our there was powerfull rebell of Cossack. We had a great problem to defeat them

  • jako SNAZNA pesma pozdravi od famillije Kazak

  • So, Famous, and really I know, better choir in the world.. Thanks for to all..

  • it is normal nad natural pal.

once upon a time were country where catholics and orthodox people lived together. that country named polish-lithuanian commonwealth. and it worked well, till stupid augustus III involved that country in counterreformation movement.

the most stupid move what he could do...

and that was beginning of end for that commonwealth.

  • That is true.During turkish ocupation people were rather under turkish(muslims) rule than Habsburg(catholic),because theyr german soldiers were cruel on slovac people and also every non german speaking people living in hungarian kingdom.

  • The Cossacks had great style. I love their uniforms.

  • Rusgreek, yes, ur right, slavic united country is not possible right now, what a pitty : / Fuc.ken UE : / Hails from Poland

  • Basicly lyrics go round and round. Smth like Cossacs were passing through hamlets in the early morning and lasses were greeting em and asking to rest with them. And Cossacs reply ` Today we are on our way to the battle but be sure we ll be back tommorow`

  • I don't think a union of slavs would be a good idea . Nor politicly nor economicly . As far as my knowledge and intuition of history goes , that wouldn't work . And more likely it would bring about a downfall after some time for those nations .

Anyway , for what good would that be ? It's not like we are in some danger or treath or anything .

And restrain yourself from using the word "pact" . Agreements are more suitable . Pacts always bring some ilk with them.

    --- Your coussin from slovakia.
