Feeding time for baby Conure Parrots -- 4 weeks old

I have a conure that i bought from a breeder. she was meant to be for breeding herself, but i tamed her instead. when she was little she was rejected by her parents and she was handfed for a week or two b4 being put back in the nest. i was handfeeding my baby budgies when she came up to me and grabed the spoon from my hand and ate all the formula... it was the cutest thing ever :3

I want to incubate my own baby conures when I get mine.

I know the temp is 95-100 and the humidity should be...60% right?

And I turn themmm.. how many times a day? I forgot xD

When do I feed them normal food?

Pellets, seeds, nuts, fruits, veggies..

I just Love watching Levi flap his wings rapidly while he eats and I love to hear his little chirp!!!! Makes me smile and laugh and makes me fall more and more in love with him!!!! : )

Hi Anita!!!! It's good to meet you too!!. I forgot to tell you. Avian Fashions recommends a small, but buy him a medium. It will fit him more comfortably. Tried to get the suit on Zoey again. Not going to work. But that's ok. I'd rather have her trust, then taking her outside. She took a nap today snuggled between my arm and side. So sweet. I took her out of her carrier right away when I got her. Probably not the right thing to do. Let him rest until you get him home.

I'll keep routing for you!!!! : ) I really want to take Levi out as soon as I see him, but I won't be able to until we get home. I can talk to him on the hour ride home and maybe that will get him used to my voice at least!!! I'm afraid of the possibility of trouble if I take him out in the car!

Hi Anita:

Yes trust is everything. I don't care about the flight suit anymore. I live in Nebraska and it's either too hot or too cold not to mention the spores and dust flying around in the air. I live in a little village with lots of farmland around so there's also all the chemicals. But for you, follow Rita's advise and you'll do great! I'm excited for you to get Levi. He comes in a really nice carrier. Can't buy anthing that nice around here. I'll be watching!!!!

We live in Maine so most of the summer should be fine, but it will be really cold in the winter. I'll have to get Levi a "hoodie"!! ; ) I'm excitedly awaiting Rita's next video!!! Should be within the next four days or so!!! Can't wait to see how much Levi has changed!!!! I bet we won't be able to tell him and his sister apart & Sammy will be big!!!! : )

hey guys, i just got my two conure babies,,, one is a beautiful jendaya conure at about 7 weeks old, and one is gold capped conure, at 5 weeks old,,, i was wondering what way is better to handfeed them, syringe feeding or spoon feeding? i am totally new at this hand feeding,,, any tips guys? i have tried both and was pretty ok at it,,, buh i think sppoon feeding it better,,, what do yuh guys think? yuh guys prolly know more than me,,, so plz help? appreciate it,, :D

To Levi and Sammy's parents. I did something terrible and I am so upset about it I can't sleep and I feel sick all the time. Stupidly I tried to get Zoey in her flight suit and I was too rough for her and now she doen'ts cuddle any more. She does give me kisses. Rita said she will be better and I know it will, but if I had studied her flight suit video it probably wouldn't have happened. So be careful and follow Rita's instructions to the letter so this doesn't happen to you. I'm so sad.

WOW haha they just luuuv that food. And they wait so patiently for their turn! Can I ask how you bent your spoon? I have been trying to bend one but not sure how without damaging it!

@jxh0703 I used a cheap thin metal spoon and I held it against a towel covered surface and then pounded it with a rubber mallet to get the bent shape. I ruined several spoons before I got the shape I wanted. I used to bend plastic spoons by dipping them in boiling water and then bending the spoon to make the shape right.

@rita191919 Oh i see, it does take a lot of work to bend! I knew it. Thank you for the tip :) But it must be worth the hassle since they seem to enjoy eating from spoons.

@jxh0703 all the babies from the conures to the caiques seem to like eating from the spoon. It is a little messier...but it is easy to clean up. I personally think the babies learn to eat on their own faster when fed from a spoon.

This is Zoey's mom again. Those of you who are getting one of these babies, you have a lot of joy coming your way. I put all my birds on the floor together, They seem ot get along very well. If your baby is an only, that's perfect. If you have other birds watch out !!! Zoey is very possive of her mom and doesn't share me. I of course keep a close watch. Zoey is snuggly and cuddlely and loves kisses. You are going to be very happy with your new babyb

Hello Zoey's Mom!!! I have been watching all of the videos like crazy. I am the new Mom of Sunny....actually, I changed his name to Sammy. He is the first born.
