It was Hughie Thomasson ,and now that Sparky Mark guy replacing Ed King ,playing Ed's part's. So your comment should read " Why can't Ed King be in Skynyrd instead of Sparky ?"

Rickey was a great addition to the band , he keeps the spirit and music alive very well. It would be great to see Ed back on the Stratocaster.

Yeah ,now that you mention it , I saw Ed play Allen's parts with Gary on Workin for MCA . I'd love to see Ed back in the band ,and even Artimus . I got to see them again live a few weeks ago ,and Rickey did a helluva job ,he does bring new life back into that band. The new Bass player was cool ,he looked and dressed just like 70's era Leon. Sparky plays the parts well ,but he just don't seem to fit in. We NEED ED back

I have seen Skynyrd 37 times..only 7 before the plane crash. Johnny is okay but he has a deeper voice and not quite as good as Rinnie. Johnny will rarely sing the ballads.
