  • these are the trucks i use to see in 1997 here in los angeles. they were green. and i think they are retired since 1999.

  • i like the way the truck`s arms have to curve sideways to grab the Toter

  • Calmet does Wilmington.

  • Is Torrence's whole asl fleet made up of Peterbilt/F7000? Or do they have a few random bodies/chassis mixed in? I know there buying brand new cng Peterbilt 7000s now.

  • my dad works there hes been doing that for 27 years

  • i just love the way the grabbers fold up like that.

  • But LA owned replicas of these. I remember in the late 90's a large chuncck of the fleet that operated in the Hollywood area was trucks identical to this one. If Torrance does not buy used trucks and you're certain, then I would say hese trucks can't be those trucks.

  • @Bdeta88 i have a picture of the L.A. heils but i want to know where are all the retired ones. do u know so i can check them out?

  • @xUNKNOWNxAC94 There is an former LA Heil now owned by EDCO that has been put out to pasture at the Aqua Mansa yard in Riverside

  • those are not old L.A. city trucks not even close .those are torrance, california trucks and they dont buy used trash trucks

  • This truck looks like an exact replica of an ex LA City truck. Now those are supposed to be at a junkyard, but I have a hunch this could be one of thsose trucks. Odd thing is that this truck has a fuller hopper, while LA trucks generally have a clear hopper.

  • was the RL you were looking for on a standard residential route or was it on bulk pick up?

  • Great video, Shadofax. Heil Formula 7000s are hard to find these days.

  • in my opinion there one of if noe heils best asl! ive never had the privilage to see on in person but they look good from what i can see!

  • The good ol' Heil DuraPack 7000...In my opinion it's Heil's best ASL...you get the high-compaction DuraPack body, with a well-built arm...True, the arm doesn't have the longest reach in the world, but the 7000 arm will outlast any Python arm...

  • true

it also has very little swing out and some kick ass grbbers lol

  • Yeah, no shit there Mike!

  • how come at 2;40 he picks up the green bin but not the black one

  • he picked up the black one then backed up for the grey one because of what was in it

  • Nice, smooth action here! Glad you finally got to see a Form. 7000 in person! They look pretty nice on Petes! Weird sound to the engine!

  • no recycling or the contents in the black bin go to a mrf also what kind of truck picks up the gray bin

  • from wat ive heard it a amrep but im not sure

  • did anyone else notice how the curverature of the claw fits perfectly around the toters

  • wow, she looks like a 31yd, nice findBill

  • What kind of RLs? Great Vid!

  • I think they are Heils, but I could be wrong, it's been a while since I've seen one.

  • Nice finds man 5 stars and favorite

  • how come the guy picks up the green when he is supossed to pick up the black one

  • nice work Bill and love the truck nice combo

  • great vid! does the same truck collect the gray toters??

  • That would be the amrep asl's job!

  • amrep asl! would love to see that..

  • Congrats on the findings! Love them, particularly this rig. Find that old type of grabber interesting, great job! Definitely a fav and feature vid!

  • sure is alot of grass clippings mixed in the trash

  • i thought wm and calmet did torrance! nice

  • Nope, WM does Manhattan Beach, Carson and Wilmington (I think), and Calmet does Lomita.
