  • kurt loadblower can go fuck himself!

  • Kurt Loder is a Libertarian... of course he doesn't know what he's talking about.

  • So, Kurt, you have no idea what you're talking about, you're misinformed and prejudice, but we'd like to ask your opinion on this very serious and important issue, because we can't find anybody who is informed and unbiased who agrees with our agenda.

  • Kurt Loder is such a douchebag. He was a douchebag back when he used to make snide remarks on MTV about bands he didn't feel deserved critical acclaim, and now he's a douchebag because he's running his mouth about something "he's not an expert about." You're not an expert? Than STFU.

  • The French system is not in danger of collapsing. Just about any European system costs less on a real GDP per capita basis then the current U.S. system. What angers me is when people fail to look at the standard in nations with highly specialized economies, and see that a country which spends 1/6 of it's economy on health care is not something to be proud of. Especially when that spending is not all that innovating or providing more coverage. Kurt Loder is defending a wildly inefficient system.

  • @jigglypuff3 "The French system is not in danger of collapsing. "

Google search: france public health deficit

Read countless articles that prove france's healthcare system is in need of reform_

"Kurt Loder is defending a wildly inefficient system."

No_ I can't speak for KL, but what I want is a stateless healthcare system, or to put it another way not at all what america has now_ Free market medicine would reduce costs, increase choice, and put down the guns_

  • @thetopcat32 because those lists are from studies funded by GOVERMENT MONEY. Of course they aren't going to put themselves in a bad light when they supply the grant money! It's the same as when pharmaceutical companies sponsor a study on their own drug efficacy. Follow the money!

  • @wtfomfg27

Not to mention that there is a huge underground economy in health care in socialized countries that is not included in those statistics- i.e. tipping (it does not officially exist)

  • What would Kurt Loder know about universal healthcare?! He's a music television correspondent!

  • Wow. Dude, you interview celeberties. Keep your fucking day job bro. California? Yea its a disaster, ITS NOT FUNDED PROPERLY! Ever since the 60's, legislation has made it a pain to raise taxes. Whats worse than Loder though, is this lady pretending to be a journalist and taking this source seriouslyand asking leading questions. " .with all the news we're seeing in the economomy. is this the time that you potentialy do a universal healthcare system..potentially rase taxes..it a problem isnt it?"

  • I take both sides of the issue. Have a public option for people who can't afford the healthcare that's been in place, and keep the healthcare that's in place for people who can afford it, and don't tax people who don't use the public healthcare.

  • this is kurt fucking loder! dear libnot, you people are idiots. no wonder you watch fox news.

  • Does he even have a point? He's not an expert and has nothing of substance to say.

  • WTF does Kurt Loder know about healthcare? "It seems like ..." what? Get an actual expert next time. There are plenty of people who are against universal healthcare who actually know what they're talking about.

  • The costs of univ health care are too high

  • This MTV rat have to shut up!!!

    He is such a dick!!!

  • Why? because he makes a valid point?

  • Why the fuck would you get someone on MTV to talk about universal healthcare?? Fox News is idiotic.

  • "Maybe do something about medical licensing. Do you need a surgeon if you get a hangnail? Probably not. That might be a good idea"

Jesus Christ Kurt Loder that was so fucking brilliant you figured it all out. I'm so glad Fox found you to comment on this pressing national issue and give your brilliant opinion cuz otherwise I would have been like "yeah whatever Clinton and Obama, what does Kurt Loder think of health care?" More importantly, "what do Marilyn Manson and Britney Spears think"?

  • If he's not an expert like he says about 5 times in this video. Why doesn't fox get an expert?

  • I didn't even listen to kurt loader when i was watching mtv why should i now? The "government" that was running the Walter reed army hospital was a subsidiary of Halliburton. A move put in place against the wishes of the doctors and nurses who worked there at the time. As soon as kurt loader decides to make an actual case with fact figures, and peer reviewed paper he is still just some guy working at mtv.

  • "im not an expert on this" and france and german healthcare has been disaster? france has the best in the world... nuff said

  • france has the best in the world, that's why 14000 elderly died in 2006 because it became a little warm. they are under-prepared and under-funded.

    fuck universal healthcare.

  • Hahahaa "a little heat wave" ? :DD

have you ever even visited France?

or any other country for that matter?

    guess not...

  • I lived in Switzerland, Germany, France, Spain, Andora, Canada, Australia, Italy.....all over the world. The truth is the politicians can not outrun reality! They can try to monopolize healthcare all they want, France is in SERIOUS debt to the E.U. and they oversubsidize healthcare in France! That is why it is so "good" right now! It is unsustainable and it serves as false hope to freeloaders throughout the world! The government will destroy our economy while trying to "help" us! Fuck Bush!

  • healthcare systems are only in debt because of the stupid debt based monetary system

  • Princess Di probably would be alive if she had her wreck in New York City as opposed to Paris. The best in the world? Yea, right, if you are the French minister of Health, maybe. If its so great why isn't it voluntary rather than mandated? Or does individual choice matter anymore (which it shouldn't if you are a statist)

  • @r58black What the fuck are even talking about?

Try making a logical argument before posting some emotional rhetoric, just makes you look like a fucking 12yearold...

  • @Darusdei

Let me explain to you, Mr./Mrs. mouth, what the fuck I am talking about. First of all the comment was an observation, not a syllogism (part of logic if you need to look it up). The logical portion is the fact that a system that is so great should not be mandatory. Things that are mandatory mean that people have no choice. Freedom is loss of choice. Statist are those who advocate larger government and further government intrusion into people's lives.

  • @Darusdei . I passed age 12 quite some time ago. Since then I have completed medical school, two residencies, been a medical director of hospitals, been in private practice, worked as an employee of a large medical group, officially and unofficially been involved with medical clinics in Europe and the Middle East, had friends and family who have been both patients and physicians in Communistic and Socialistic countries, so I have some idea about what I am talking about .....but..........

  • @Darusdei

In addition, my definition of an *sshole is someone who speaks for someone else without that person's permission. So, if someone wants to advocate statist reduction of people's choice then..........

Neither, am I too fond of looters who advocate theft, even if by legal plunder, of patient's goods and services.

  • @r58black (CORRECTION)

Neither, am I too fond of looters who advocate theft, even if by legal plunder, of ANYONE'S goods and services.

  • @r58black it would be cheaper and private sector wouldnt go anywhere.

    like how it's almost everywhere...

  • @Darusdei

    And your point is?

  • @r58black and the point is that france has the best healthcare system in the world, no matter how u like to twist the truth...

  • @Darusdei . Oh, really. Et quand un patient a été en France?

  • @r58black and? we can start comparing healthcare horror stories if you want but u.s. will stil top it...

  • @Darusdei . There is NO perfect system. I am not, nor did I say I was a fan of the current U.S. health care system. But the illusion of legislated Utopia, while alluring, if pursued will not solve the problems and will only change and exacerbate them. The U.S. health care system is not a free market nor has it been for many, many years- which is exactly the problem.

  • @Darusdei . Since the government often cluster flocks much of what it does I offer this five point plan for your contemplation:

IF THE PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES WANT UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE THEN THE ONLY WAY WE ARE GOING TO HAVE AN ETHICALLY VIABLE AND ECONOMICALLY REALISTIC SYSTEM IS TO:

1)MAKE THE POLITICAL LEADERS WALK THE TALK-I.E. THEY MUST HAVE THE SAME BENEFITS THAT THEY ARE FORCING UPON THE GENERAL POPULATION,

    to be continued

  • @Darusdei

    continued:

2)ALLOW ALL UNITED STATES CITIZENS AND TAX PAYING LEGAL RESIDENTS TO GET A TAX DEDUCTION/CREDIT FOR THE PREMIUM OF THE HEALTH INSURANCE POLICY OF THAT INDIVIDUAL’S CHOICE,

3)ALLOW ALL UNITED STATES CITIZENS AND TAX PAYING LEGAL RESIDENTS TO GET A HEALTH SAVINGS ACCOUNT,

4)ALLOW ALL UNITED STATES HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS TO GET A TAX DEDUCTION/CREDIT FOR THE CHARITY HEALTH CARE THEY PROVIDE IN OR ON THE UNITED STATES, ITS TERRITORIAL WATERS OR AIRSPACE AND.

  • @Darusdei

    CONTINUED TO LAST POINT:

5)HAVE TRUTH IN PRICING-I.E. TELL THE CUSTOMER, THE PATIENT, THE ACTUAL COSTS OF GOODS AND SERVICES PRIOR TO PURCHASE IN NON-EMERGENT SITUATIONS.

  • @Darusdei the WHO ranking is hardly empirical evidence

my country is listed 2nd but i doubt that the rest of the world has an even less functional healthcare system than we do

  • @broncofan92slay WHO isn't the only one which got these conclusions.

  • who the hell said kurt loder was an expert on this subject. this shows the idiocy of fox news using him as a debater.

  • This is why fox news will always be Rupert Murdock biased media in my view.

Instead of getting a real expert on health-care, they get Kurt Loder, an MTV veejay. Why did fox news do that? Because their audience isn't educated enough to know the difference. Because they want young people to believe this propaganda.

There are countless real health-care experts, a real news network would have real experts debating the issue who can present facts, not opinions.

    Shame on Kurt Loder!!!

  • we dont need 'experts' mr loder. we need commonsense. And you sir, have got it! congrats on using your brain and not your celebrity. :::applauding:::

  • We don't need experts when you're dealing with fake news, you need an Mtv veejay.

fox news is Rupert Murdock biased media.

  • hey, loder is telling the truth. if someone can get the truth out there, more power to them. it's not rocket science, knowing the things loder is saying, so i dont have to get into biases, ownership, prejudices, etc. Stuff like that is for the kiddies. I put Clinton, Obama, McCain etc in the same plastic celebrity crowd as Britney Spears. Only Ron Paul and a VERY few others should be respected among the thousands of politicians ive heard. 99% of politicians are thug leaders, trying to

  • make up some sort of good sounding reasoning as to why they should empower him to oppress. Im amazed people buy into. "I can do X with Y's money." CRIMINALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The original and best VJ on MTV (do they still call them that?)

  • MTV VJs are probably referred to as hosts, esp. as, NAME, host of SHOW.

  • He should stick to the job he's qualified to do, Veejay, not go and give opinions to sway young voters from the facts.

Is he getting paid by health insurance companies.

    This is unconscionable.

  • Connecticut Coalition for

    Universal Health Care

  • Funny how most of the Americans who are against universal health care in America are either rich or have never experienced healthcare in other countries. British NHS is far more superior to the dodgy and crappy American system. Ignorant. Health care costs in America have gone up 78% since 2001. Many Americans are bankrupt because of their "superior" healthcare system.

  • I am against Universal Healthcare.

I am not rich, and I have experienced the VA and the Military health care systems. They suck.

Anything that makes you more dependent on the Federal Government is bad.

  • I know people who lived in the UK and now live in the US--they say the UK's healthcare is awful--people lined up in wards in beds. So shove it up your ass.

  • wtfomfg27. Mature adults know how to make bona fide comments without using adolescent invectives.

  • Typical response when you lose an argument. Insult the poster--sorry, you lost.

  • I haven't lost. The fact is the American healthcare system needs work because I have American friends who have been screwed over by it from companies that don't pay, charge outrageous costs, or simply don't cover pre-existing conditions. And they are mostly all lower middle class. socialised medicine may not be the ultimate cure but there is plenty of room for improvement.

  • You're right, there is plenty of room for improvement. It starts with insurance reform, not changing over to universal government-run healthcare. Gov't-run anything is a joke.

  • So, the police department and fire department in your local area is a joke?

  • Yes.

Corrupt and inept. How's that for starters?

  • @wtfomfg27 If the health care in the UK is so bad, why is America lower then the UK on the medical list?

  • I didn't know he was still at MTV...

  • kurt loder was one of the great figures of mtv. Everyone from the mtv generation must now be vomiting that because he's done at that channel, he's now trying to be on fox news. This is a guy who was editor at rolling stone magazine and once reported sympathetically on sinead o connor refusing to have the national anthem sung before a concert. He's trying to remarket himself, that's all this is. This sure isn't a nuanced, unbiased discussion of this issue, that's for sure.

  • Vomiting indeed!

  • So called Universal Health Care is a bad idea it is not free your Taxes will pay for it.

  • The police department is free, firefighters are free too... we pay taxes for that.

  • If you think that health care is expensive now, you just wait how expensive it will be when its "free". Only devotees of the religion of The State are enthusiastic about 'universal health care'. No one will ever be fooled by power mad sociopaths wearing a mask of phony humanitarianism .

  • It will be free when we remove the profit incentive for the health insurance companies.

Americans should have free health care, as long as Congress continues to refuse to pass o fuel emission laws. I live in California where Asthma and other respiratory health related illnesses are on the rise.

The government is forcing me to breathe contaminated air. They should take care of me with my tax dollars if I get sick from breathing smog.

  • then wear a freakin mask or just move far away or just buy their land or just get a clue. the afrikans arent breathing emissions. i think they live about 30 yrs. maybe its because they dont have cars? bahahaha.

  • he better watch his back over there at Mtv. they dont take kindly to their talking heads promoting conservatism

  • wow Kurt Loder has hid head on straight..at least on this issue

  • And the French are now saying they need to fix their health care situation and should follow the United States system. I thought the libs wanted us to follow the French system. The libs say the French system is perfect. Guess the libs are WRONG!

  • i really hope you dont get sick cause then youll realize how shity hmo's are alot of conservatives who foam at the mouth against universal healthcare have never dealt with the system and its a little embarrassing to be the only industrialized nation that doesn't provide free h.c for its citizens. and yes the french system isnt perfect no one says it is, but it is better than americas system especially for working class people.

  • Who pumped up HMOs in the 90s? Oh that's right, Hillary--a DEM. SHUT UP!

  • Um WHO CREATED HMOs? Oh that's right NIXON - A REPUBLICAN. SHUT UP.

  • he also created the EPA. What a dildo.

  • Comment removed

  • What does the EPA have to do with HMOs?

  • I find these extreme view points disturbing. I take a very pragmatic, more thoughtful view on universal health care... Put all socialist against a very big wall and shoot them. And one more thing. The big wall just happens to be placed between America and Mexico. That's the centrist view. You radicals can go to hell.

  • The man is correct!

Hope Kurt Loder supports RON PAUL in 2008!

  • Fakename, no one asks because one of the jobs of the Fed govt as defined by the Constitution is 'providing for the common defence'.

Why is it that libs always think no choice and govt control in healthcare, etc., is good, when they complain about our army and war, also run by said govt? If you think they're screwed on one issue, why do you think they would be great on another?

  • Ok, if Kurt Loder can figure out the problems with universal welfare (oops, I meant healthcare!) then why can't the candidates???

And I'll go ahead and agree with pcoop here. Oh, and you'll have to submit to regular drug testing too - I'll not be paying for your addictions...

  • I'll pay for your healthcare as long as you abide by my demands. No premartial sex. No alcohol, drugs or cigarettes. Eat right and exercise daily. If you want me and others to pay for healthcare, then we as taxpayers should dictate how you live your life. You can't have the right without the responsibility.

  • Unfortunately Hillary/Edwards/etc... can't wait until the government runs hospitals and the entire medical field are government employees so they CAN dictate to them and patients how to run their lives.

  • If you're a republican or a democrat, don't judge health care just because the people you love is for or against it.

Be a responsible citizen and research both sides. Make informened decisions for yourself. Don't be a lazy cunt and listen to only Loder or Moore.

  • Loder is a sell-out, has-been, douchebag. No one ever asks how we pay for our wars.

  • Kurt Loder is a douche, but that doesn't mean that he's wrong on Universal Health Care. We're deep in debt right now (9 trillion), and it's not fiscally responsible to even try to implement UHC until we pay that off. THEN we can talk about it.

  • If you paid your debt off there would be no money- at all

  • The only beneficiaries of "universal health care" will be illegal aliens and tax cheats. While the Dumbocrats make you and me pay for other people's health care, John Edwards and his guys won't be paying a dime. They'll get private health care; we all know rich leftists don't go to the very government-run health clinics they advocate.

  • this is so fucking dumb 'what do you think mtv guy' 'well im not an expert but...universal healthcare is bad'. i can't believe people still think that this is a real news channel

  • If these libs think universal health care is so great, then why do people like Edwards get their checkups at the Mayo Clinic?

  • kurt loder is a douche.
