@Slayerfan7790 I've been close to FC'ing it on Pro. I actually find it a bit more natural because the raised hi-hat allows me to cross my right hand over.
to all you "know it all, I play the song frequently live".. Why don't anyone complain about the missing kickdrum in the part so heavily discussed? Not to mention the missing floortom in the ending of this part, where the rack tom also comes. And there's a couple of other glitches too. I know this, cause I've been touring with Phoenix and acknowledge the drummer as a good friend.
But does anyone know if there's a rock band version of Lasso? I imagine that's a song open for comments.. :p
I play this song on the drums frequently in real life, and you can watch this song performed live on youtube too. The reason it's charted like that is because the drummer switches to "open style" drumming for the refrain, using the left hand on the high-hat and the right hand for the toms. That's why they make the yellow the snare and the red the high-hat.
I'm guessing that since yellow acts as the "slow" high hat and the a drum lower than the snare, that playing the both at the same time is impossible unless they just threw in the red to act as the high hat.
@rockon6191 nonzz3ro said GH fixed it. No, they did not ruin it, they got a version of the song that did not have it so that Drums would not be akward to play.
This chart looks way too akward anyway, regardless of "accuracy" (read description)
@nonzz3ro That beat is a constant HH on one hand, while the other hand plays either the low tom or the snare. If you think about how that would be charted with HH as yellow it would be harder.
@nonzz3ro That's the way he actually plays the beat. On a real kit, he plays the high hat with his left hand while switching between his floor tom and snare with the right. I used to play Rock Band also, but there are a lot of ways it really limits your thinking about how a real kit can work.
@creditcreditcredit Yeah, this happens in a few songs in Guitar Hero Metallica too because of how lars does some parts. ...And Justice For All is actually charted wrong when you keep this in mind.
@nonzz3ro maybe it's supposed to replicate the open-hand style of playing? because imagine playing that section on a drum kit with the normal arms-crossed style..it would be awkward..at least for me
@nonzz3ro It's to keep it as realistic as possible, when you play the song on real drums your left hand is hitting the high-hat and your right is alternating between rhw floor tom and snare drum. Good job, good vid :)
@nonzz3ro I think it's because on real drums your right hand would be hitting the floor tom (green), and you cannot hit the hi-hat at the same time with the same hand.
Wow that certainly is a funky chart. I guess maybe they didn't want you to cross your arms when playing and thought this was the best way about doing so?
Lol at the constant fill fails btw XD

All of you should try to play this song on pro mode drums. That is even more awkward than on expert drums.

When you said Guitar Hero fixed the chart, did u mean in the chorus?
SuperGigaman 1 year ago
@SuperGigaman Guitar hero actually ruined the chart, ignoring the tom hits in the chorus. Lame.

From what I saw, the red is suppose to be the high hat in certain parts, I believe, like in certain songs such as Run To The Hills and Everlong

That's standard practice when the hi-hat is very fast, but this is the first time it's ever happened when the hi-hat was slow.

Well, I suppose the chart was based on how it's played on real drums..
