Heloo ,, i have made a model in zbrush and i wanted to animate it,, so i saved it as obj file,,, it turned out that its heavy as hell 160 mb.. so 3d max doest want to open it ,,,,,, whats the trick to animate that hight detaled objects?
@PLAlfa Zbrush creates really heavy geometry usually well over a million polys. Turn down the subdivisions and export your model again. Then turn up the subdivisions again and render a normal map to use on your low poly model. Also if you are using Zbrush 3.5 there is a free plugin called Decimation Master witch can help you greatly reduce geometry without losing details.
@syros69er helo i managed to to save obj in low poly geometry and create normal map from hight poly.. i film the texture... and i have a problem useing it in 3d max.. the map is never displayed as i want to.. i know that there is something with UVs but i dont know when i should create them in zbrus,, when i export my model from zb doest it have UV already if i clicked uvtiles set resolution and adapitive?... when i in import the obj file it semas it has
@PLAlfa ..... uvs within........ but when i go to maps.. bumb/normal bum..and i set then normal map and i chose my normal map ,,,, the textue looks messy,,and i cant set it right.. even with UV modifier in 3dmax.. there must be something what i do wrong,, time goes by and i still sit at the same pleace with these textures...
do you mean zbrush if so zbrush works with high pollygon count (charaters 4 games and movies) to show a lot more detail then you have to normal map it onto a low pollygon verson of that charater then you get high detail on a low polly charater so you dant lag up you game :)
a game requirs a low poly count because it is in realtime there are realtime rendering systems like glsl but you still need low polys so you can bake a normla (deformation) map to a model to make it appear high poly when it really has little polys at all polys being faces on a model
any way to get this plugin on zbrush4?

@PLAlfa Yeah use Uv master to create Uvs on your model before exporting it.
