It was buit on a Brit APC chassis, and no, the muzzle flash is NOT cg, the gun fires propane. And yes, it is used for reenactments, and it is just a bit smaller than an original stug, but until you see it up close like I have, it is a pretty good mock up.

Erstens ist das kein STUG III (siehe Fahrwerk) und zweitens schießt dieses was immer es ist nicht wirklich, denn dann würde es durch den Rückstoß schaukeln!

It's not a real StuG... It's a converted, British FV434 chasis, with a StuG designed armor.. It's not a real StuG, it's made out of steel, and most of which is only 1/4 inch.. It's only about 14 tons, less than half of the original, and also uses a modern, British FV434 Royals Royce multi-fuel engine... So it's not fake, it's a real tank, but isn't an original.. It's more like a movie prop type of tank, but with steel armor, instead of plywood..

Panzer III, Ausf. A had only 5 road wheels on each side, but I don't remember if the Germans ever converted any of those chassis' into StuGs.

@dragonbeard, it's not a "real" shell firing or anything, because that would be illegal... It's not using black powder, because there's too much smoke then... Instead we used propane gas, which gives a more realistic bang an flash! Also, the tank is a replica, it's full steel, but doesn't weigh the original 30 tons... I've personally driven this one, and trust me, it's very real! It's not fake, at all.
