How does Obama expect private health insurers to compete with a public option? For example Aetna paid their CEO Ronald A. Williams $40.2 Million in total compensation. The public option does not have a CEO to pay $40 million dollars to, the only way Aetna can compete would be to cut their CEO's salary, the poor guy only makes $3 million a month, how can he support his family on less than 40 million dollars a year?

Simply take a look at how much of the GDP countries with nationalized systems spend compared to what we do. There's your answer. We pay more for less with the status quo. It's true, health care systems vary. Single-payer models means one source for covering medical bills. Proposed plans here, like Medicare for all, keeps providers (doctors, hospitals, ancillary svcs as private entities). The President/Congress have coverage through a single-payer type of plan, which explains why Obama says he wants us to have what they do.

I don't see how Obama thinks that it won't run in deficit when both Medicare and Medicaid run in deficit. He also said that shifting around money would pay for 2/3 of it. Well, i don't think taking money from a program that is loosing money (such as Medicare) is a sound plan. I don't believe that it will be all waste. While I think many of his reforms to insurance companies have merit, I'm not quite sure that Obama realizes the full cost of the public option and that scares me.

How does Obama expect private health insurers to compete with a public option? For example Aetna paid their CEO Ronald A. Williams $40.2 Million in total compensation. The public option does not have a CEO to pay $40 million dollars to, the only way Aetna can compete would be to cut their CEO's salary, the poor guy only makes $3 million a month, how can he support his family on less than 40 million dollars a year?

The idea of more access to health care is to reduce inpatient services with more preventative care. Who says we'll need more hospitals? Post hoc.
The push to drop the public option and the spinelessness of the administration, it looks like we'll need more bankruptcy lawyers since more people will continue to be driven into it from medical bills given the artificially low assistance to buy the Baucus blow job for the ins. lobby without a public option.

Well, it would only make sense then, if you're a conservative, particularly a fiscal one, to support the public option. Simply take a look at how much of the GDP countries with nationalized systems spend compared to what we do. There's your answer. We pay more for less with the status quo. With regard to preventative care, yes. Even ins. companies employ it as a cost containment measure, not exactly a radical notion.

It's true, health care systems vary. Single-payer models means one source for covering medical bills. Proposed plans here, like Medicare for all, keeps providers (doctors, hospitals, ancillary svcs as private entities). The President/Congress have coverage through a single-payer type of plan, which explains why Obama says he wants us to have what they do.
My only comment about global warming is to suggest an enviro science class at your local community college for more.

Well, i don't think taking money from a program that is loosing money (such as Medicare) is a sound plan. I don't believe that it will be all waste. While I think many of his reforms to insurance companies have merit, I'm not quite sure that Obama realizes the full cost of the public option and that scares me.
