Heavens to Murgatroid! Ms Page's voice sounds as WONDERFUL and LOVELY as ever! What a talent! And this was always one of my favorite tunes of hers. THANKS for sharing this with us! You've made my day & my weekend! May ALL your wishes & dreams come true in the New Year! :)
The cartoon character that used to say "Heaven's to Murgatroid!" a lot was SnagglePuss, the Shakespeare-quoting mountain lion who wore a string tie. He was in a number of late 50's-early 60's made-for-TV cartoons put out by the famous Hanna-Barbara animation studio. The phrase brings back a lot of childhood memories for me too, since I was born in '56 & am a child of the sixties...and watched a lot of cartoons on TV back then! Hope your 2010 has gotten off to a stupendous start! :)
Thanks to you and SnagglePuss and Patti Page and Rod Taylor (Happy 80th today!) it has! Thanks for the info. and hope you have a great 2010! Exit!! Stage Left!!!
Patti Page has been one of a kind. At one time she held the record for most recordings sold by a female vocalist. She started her career at such an early age and she originated the multiple-recording of her own harmony, used later by Kay Starr, Rosemary Clooney and Jo Stafford. Patti is a wonderful person too, always friendly and willing to spend a few moments with a fan.
She made songs sound so singable.

LOL! "Heavens to Murgatroid"!!! That was a jolt back to my childhood. What was that cartoon lion's name that always said that?

My favorite of all of Patti Page recordings. Reached #2 on Billboard Chart. Only Elvis kept her from reaching #1 that summer of 1956.

Damn fine singing for a gal 71 years old. Ms. Patti Page always had the pipes - a gorgeous voice from a gorgeous gal.
