its 1.5 years ago I saw my first one at street. At this time the SL 63 wasnt even official available on market but the owner was a "clever" dealer, so he said. It was at night in front of a restaurant and when he saw me looking very interested at this car, he came out and took me with him to a short drive around...Accelaration, Sound and design, just awesome amazing, coool !!!

I don't think that a 7 speed gearbox ( more exactly the 7G Tronic) wich is mounted on SL 63 AMG will be mounted on any V12 Turbo engines such as S 65 AMG or SL 65 AMG.

The reason is that this engines develope a lot of torque aprox 1000 Nm, and the 7 G tronic gearbox cannot handle that much torque.

Yup, SL65, and sure SL65 Black Series has 5 speed AMG Speedshift gearbox. Dont know about S-class.

If I remember correct, this AMG SL63 with V8 has the 7-speed, but the AMG SL65 with V12 has 5-speed gearbox.

Same goes for the AMG S63 vs. AMG S65, but again maybe my data sheets are outdated :-)

It was promoted as a special normaly aspirated engine, because it almost have the tourqe characteristics of a Turbo/super-charged engine!

So I think its means to stay normally aspirated, but Its just a guess!

First engine ever to be produced from the start by AMG, and thus not a tuned Mercedes engine!

If I'm correct, this could be the first real sportscar ever made by Mercedes. It has a dual-clutch sequential gearbox, and a limited slip differential (eventually!!), which is part of the "Performance Pack". So the only last detail to check would be the ESP: can you turn if off completely or not? I hope the answer is yes, but I know Merc ...
