  • I have some other type of crossovers , that they dont need power for them like positive & negative . so what can i do to connect a amp and crossovers for the mids & highs ?

  • @JohnnyBeeAtch214 The small crossovers don't need a power wire just hook in the wires that it shows and it will just work. Pretty much just for mids and highs

  • i have the same amp and i never used it is ma audio any good

  • @racecar1234100 I loved that amp. Never had a problem

  • @casperskafs i just have it sittin around if you want it you can have it

  • yo i swear you have the same voice as towmatta from cars lmfao but great vids

  • @kimasilv LOL awesome

  • Did It Help The Mids Sound Louder ?

  • @JohnnyBeeAtch214 Cleaner

  • wht would b the porpuse of the crossover? or wht does it do to ur car system? just askin. thanks btw great xplanation! * * * * *

  • would on of these be good if i wanted to run a sub and a pair of 6x9s on one amp?

  • @b16jose No good if your gonna run 2 amps

  • @casperskafs but im only running one

  • Hey I have the same exact MTX Crossover and another MTX Crossover just like it.... Its been sitting in my room for 2 years... I WANT TO KNOW: what is the purpose of this specific crossover? Does it put out additional watts to my sub?

I Already have a 200 Watt Equalizer that i use only to my sub and sounds great compared to the radio's sub output. I also have 2- 400 watt tweeters that also sound great and are mounted by the visors on the door frames and are connected to my front door speakers

  • @hitmanwanted3 I'm gonna send you a pm with a link that might help ya :)

  • @penningtonin dammit man now my wife is gonna think i'm tryin to leave her.

  • @rome14able you gonna need a amp tht puts out at lest 3500 watts rms. that amp prolly is prolly about 900 rms true watts

  • i have a 2channel amp for my 12" sub.

im not much into car audio but i play a lot of musical instruments and i want to hear more bass line/riffs (not too much bass drum) from my ska and reggae music in my car stereo. like, i get great sound coming from my hip hop and rap music already but i wanna get more out of my midbass or whatever you call it for again, those bass riffs in ska and reggae music. SO should i hook up another amp, crossover, or epicenter?????? thanks!!!!

  • @reighner990 If you want more midbass like from your mids (door speakers or rear deck) then you should get another amp like another 2 channel and get better mids

  • @casperskafs thanks. i shall do that. but lastly, im only worried about overheating the amp or using up my car battery. will that make any difference at all?

  • @reighner990 Your battery should be fine unless your running a lot of power 1000 + watts

  • @casperskafs thanks. so should i buy a capacitor too if i decide to do this or what?

  • can u please help....i have 4 12s hooked up to a 1500 watt crunch and a 800 watt amp for my highs and have a crossover...the problem is that when i go pass a certain volume my amps turn off and goes into protect mode...WHAT IS THE PROBLEM, I TRIED EVERYTHING I COULD TO FIX IT BUT ITS STILL NOT WORKING!!!

  • @rome14able Your trying to push to much power. A lot of people do this. When you turn your volume up it's just to much for your amps to handle. Try adjusting your gains or you might need bigger or better amps.

  • @casperskafs thanks ill try...ill keep you posted to tell if it works

  • what did you set your low pass Hz at? And do you use the extra decibal boost @45 Hz? Just curious as to how you set your up because I just finished mounting and installing it.

  • @iballen93 Can't member what I set my hz @. I don't use the extra boost cause it distorts when I use it

  • wow what are the odds that i have the same exact crossover as you and I want to hoop it up. is there a reason it looks like you have 2 wires for your ground and 2 for remote?

  • @iballen93 I think I had it hooked up to a fan. Thats why the extra wires. Pretty weird you have the same crossover

  • man it took alot for to watch this 34 people didnt think ge was a dumb redneck hippie

  • @daviedave055 LOL thanks bro

  • i didnt understand and i want to hear how it sounds

  • Can u also connect the remote, ground and the 12v to the stereo??? Or is it better using the amp?

  • @Betoladodgers You can use your stereo

  • when my amp is turn on.... my head unit on aux mode.... i didnt play any song.... but my sub make a noise sound... when i rev up my engine.... it sounded like a supercharger car..... can solve it for me....

sorry my english not so good.....

  • @cvbn4400 Yeah my Friends Subs sound like that too, But i dont know how to fix that i tryed too figure that out too lol

  • shut up you jackass drunker..........hahahhahaha

  • is a crossover pretty much the same as an equalizer? someone said i need an equalizer for my sub and amp but i dont know if i should get one or not or how to hook it up.. i saw this video and it seems about the same as an eq but i wasnt sure which is better or what to get?

  • @countryboyG Yea its kinda the same cept I would get the eq before a crossover cause you can do more most of the time unless you get a crappy eq

  • How do you if you blow out a cross over ...... and how to fix it if its blown

  • @fatjavis I've never really head of anyone with a blown crossover so I can't help ya there sorry

  • Hey, do you know how to hook up subs without an aftermarket deck and no RCA outputs? If you could explain it or make a video that would be amazing!!

  • @MetallicaRocks93 You need like a converter box kind of thing. Sorry I always replace the headunit

  • @MetallicaRocks93 search for a "hi lo converter" in google. ;)

  • I thought of a lot of sexual things with sticking things in holes and push little guy in a little bit and put the big red guy in there, and they both are in their tight.... I mean I could go on and on with this.

  • @Comanche14680 LOL.

  • alright because i have 2 subs with one amp going to each sub. and i dont know how to hook up only one cross over to 2 diff. amps

  • @crackerwp OOO wait. I thought you had an amp for your subs and an amp for your mids. On my crossover you can only hook one subwoofer amp and one mid amp. I don't know how you would hook up 2 subwoofer amps to 1 crossover. Not the crossover in this video anyway. I'd say just don't use a crossover

  • @crackerwp all you need is a simple rca splitter for your output allowing you to split the signal 2 or more ways

  • @crackerwp if u have one amp for each sub connect one amp to the crossover low output and then link the second amp to the one that is connected to the crossover.

  • @crackerwp hey man all you gotta do is on the output of the crossover put y-splitters to both of your amps inputs

  • @crackerwp use a Y-adapter in order for you to connect 2 amps in your case get 2 Y-adapters :)

  • whats you have 2 amps? do you need a seperate crossover for each?

  • @crackerwp You just need one crossover. It helps your tweek your mids and subs seperatly.

  • whats if you have 2 amps? can you use just one crossover? or do you need more than one?

  • thanks bro for u help

  • @TheGordo84 No prob man

  • pretty simple indeed....thx man!

  • @UrNemesis5366 Glad I could help thank for watching :)

  • great vid

  • @starkid101 Thanks

  • Great video

  • @alonso2112002 Thanks

  • Excellent vid, thinking of hooking up a crossover in my setup. Not sure if I need one tho. Both my amps have built in crossovers, can u let me know what ya think. Thanks!

  • @210hammon Do you have a amp for highs and amp for lows?

  • @casperskafs Yea, one for my subs and one for my highs. Both have built in crossovers in the amps. Didn't know if the"amp crossovers" would be enough to separate all the frequencies, fully. Thanks!

  • @210hammon You'd probably be fine without one. I'm not sure how much better a crossover would make it. My amps all have crossovers on them too but my crossover just makes it more simple to adjust cause all the knobs are on the top and easy to see. Plus I have a little girl so with this crossover I can just pop my trunk and turn down my subwoofer ( My sub amp doesn't have a bass knob).

  • doesnt a crossover seperate high from lows?

  • @bshawn41 Yea pretty much

  • so do crossovers control the gain on the amp to

  • @doza146 Mine doesn't

  • @casperskafs so thats just for like your high and low pass filters then rite

  • @doza146 kinda yea it does filter your speakers but has a bass boost knob and a HZ knob and a button to make them parallel.
