am impressed by the Persian (alternative) music scene. i have just started discovering it, after the students' radio station (Brussels) played some songs.
Superb sound of instruments. for me Iranian playin' like this is jaw dropping, kinda music ive been looking for, rythm of country-blues, knopflers voice, and great lyric, ey dad az eshgh! AMAZING song
This is persian or farsi lyrics happening in western music rhythms and instruments. Listen to Leonard Cohen, even young Dylon. These are the influences. I listen to a lot of Cohen: the connection was Immediate!Very cool!
I watched it completely once but I'm sure I will not feel the need to watch it again. Other videos of kiosk, add a lot to the song and you can watch them many more times and still find them fresh. Not this one. Sorry Mr. Kiarostami and thanks for the Eshghe Sorat video!
I have to admit though, at one point, I was reminded of your father's movies, and his incredible talent for making the audience 'anticipate' (polite for 'suffer'). When you put down your marker, and calmly start smoking and even drinking your tea, I was getting stressed out, wondering if you'll manage to start writing again on time!! Whew!!
Ahmad...kaaret doroste. Still trying to figure out how you trained the "magas" to follow script! That's one hell of a magas. I'd love to use him for my next videos.
It is so unbelievably refreshing to hear intelligent lyrics accompanied by such nice music, and to top it all by an Iranian band. I suppose you guys (and people like you) are the saviours of Iranian pop/rock music.
I hope now the idiots in LA can stop making all the crappy so called "music" and let us breath some fresh air. Thank god now I can once again listen to Iranian pop/rock music.
Well done guys you are great. Wish you all the success in the world.
interesting and creative. you just need to correct the description. it's now "Kiosk's Ey Dad Az Eshgh (Love for Speed)" you need to change "love for speed" to something else i guess!
