Vancouver's Odyssey closes: End of an era for legendary gay club

Have you ever been to a place where you immediately felt at home...immediately felt comfortable? That was how I felt the moment I walked in the doors of the Odyssey. I talked shop with the doorman (a job I used to do), traded lies with the bartenders, and have the very great honor of having performed there before it closed. The Odyssey was a place for PEOPLE...gay, straight, or something else entirely, it never matetred.

I'll miss the O. I lived in Van between '06 and '07 and was practically part of the furniture at that place. Met some amazing people (some just for the night) and had some killer visits..

cant believe that the O closed not only because it was my favorite place 2 go, but it also used 2 b my mothers back when she lived in van and hung out with all the gay boys at the paradise. o well as a wise diva once said "we will survive!"
