I've been watching Froch since day one and he's going to win this handily. Taylor has two gimmes against Hopkins (fair play for being in a close fight with him, but he didn't win) and has lost twice to the effective but extremely one-dimensional Pavlik, he's not all that impressive. Froch has flaws but he's got a big mean streak and a scary winner's mentality that is rare (Holmes, Ali, Calzaghe, Marciano, these guys refused to lose, I see that in Froch), I think Taylor lacks the heart to win.

Froch may win the fight but I don't no about "handily" Taylor has fought some pretty great fighters and has never been handily beaten. The first Pavlik fight he almost finished Pavlik in the 2nd round and the second fight wasn't a blow out Taylor was in the fight. Taylor is not a prefect fighter but he's pretty tough to dominate. If Froch does dominate Taylor than I will give him a lot of credit but I don't see that happening. I do expect to see an exciting fight though.

Taylor may not be technically sound and Pavlick may have beat him, but don't forget that in the first fight Taylor was ahead on all the score cards before he was knocked out. He can win rounds!!! Fronch is too inactive and does not throw any combinations. Pop shotting and back pedaling do not win fights in too many judge's eyes. We shall see though. Taylor will be able to beat him with clean effective puncing, crisp combonations, and don't forget that he hits like a mule.

In short this guys too much of a target and if you watch, is quite often stood at times with feet together upright. A lot of very confident attack minded fighters carry a low guard to get into the groove gearing up for attack hoping for openings, ali, calzaghe, naz, ben, lennox, to name but a few but this guys footwork isnt good enough and hes not fast enough like with his head like someone like ali or naz who can carry that style. He has handspeed but not body head movement foot work speed.

I haven't seen much of Froch but he looks pretty good. He's a good counter puncher and he's looks very comfortable and confident in the ring, he obviously hasn't fought the level of fighters that Taylor has but he's definitely a very skilled fighter. Hope to see a good fight on Saturday.

I've been watching Froch since day one and he's going to win this handily. Taylor has two gimmes against Hopkins (fair play for being in a close fight with him, but he didn't win) and has lost twice to the effective but extremely one-dimensional Pavlik, he's not all that impressive. Froch has flaws but he's got a big mean streak and a scary winner's mentality that is rare (Holmes, Ali, Calzaghe, Marciano, these guys refused to lose, I see that in Froch), I think Taylor lacks the heart to win.

Yeah, Froch may not have the big name resume that Taylor does, and he sometimes gives the impression that his defense is based on soaking up his opponents punches with his head, but he's a scary mean bugger and has more killer instinct than Taylor could dream of. Taylor's got all the tools, he's just not got the necessary ruthlessness of a truly top fighter.

Froch may win the fight but I don't no about "handily" Taylor has fought some pretty great fighters and has never been handily beaten. The first Pavlik fight he almost finished Pavlik in the 2nd round and the second fight wasn't a blow out Taylor was in the fight. Taylor is not a prefect fighter but he's pretty tough to dominate. If Froch does dominate Taylor than I will give him a lot of credit but I don't see that happening. I do expect to see an exciting fight though.

Froch is a lot better now. This footage is not his best. He has never been on the canvas even as an amateur. He proved his chin against Pascal but he scares the shit out of me coz his hands are always really low. He loves to go toe to toe too. So he loves the war. Dont think his flaws are always a technical accident either, Sometimes its to lure them in. Hope he goes to the top. Taylor may not be technically sound and Pavlick may have beat him, but don't forget that in the first fight Taylor was ahead on all the score cards before he was knocked out. He can win rounds!!! Fronch is too inactive and does not throw any combinations. Pop shotting and back pedaling do not win fights in too many judge's eyes. We shall see though. Taylor will be able to beat him with clean effective puncing, crisp combonations, and don't forget that he hits like a mule.

Hey Froch has just won a title and is making his first defence in the US against Jermain Taylor. Calzaghe had what 20 defences of his title before he went against a real world class opponent which was Jeff Lacy and over 40 fights before he fought in the US.

Calzaghe is not going to fight Froch. Froch has stopped everyone he has fought. Calzaghe does not want to fight men who have any talent. He prefers guys that are tailor made for him. Froch is a very good, strong powerful fighter. Calzaghe wll never fight him. He'd prefer reality TV losers!

Froch's best win is Tatevosyan who was ranked 32 in the wolrd at Super-middle weight. Froch is a joke until he actully fights someone who is a top10 SMW. Calzaghe would destory the big nose.

i worked ddoson security that night in nottingham and am a close personal friend of his, b4 the fight i had no respect for froch at all and doubted his ability, but i can honestly say he has won my respect and tony dodsons, he believes in himself 100 percent and can hit harder than i thought.

In short this guys too much of a target and if you watch, is quite often stood at times with feet together upright. A lot of very confident attack minded fighters carry a low guard to get into the groove gearing up for attack hoping for openings, ali, calzaghe, naz, ben, lennox, to name but a few but this guys footwork isnt good enough and hes not fast enough like with his head like someone like ali or naz who can carry that style. He has handspeed but not body head movement foot work speed.

Too right mate. Angelo dundee was asked on tv what he thought of the fight as he had worked with PMJ. He said they made that fight *calzaghe PMJ*... raised his eyebrows and said.. PMJ is not ready for that no way hes gonna get a man sized lickin... Calzaghe is a superb figher thats from one of the best boxing experts in the world.

Mundine and Bute both beat Froch if he does not show them the respect by tightening up. Mundine counters are the quickest in the 168 division. Bute would not miss as easily as Dodson. Froch is a telent though.

I like Carl Froch. He has a lot of power. He is "approaching world class" but he will get knocked out against a jones, or a calzaghe or kessler as he has the worst defence ever, he gets tagged and stands static front on and the time 4 or 5 punches could haved landed his gard is still down and hes hardly moved. If he can tighten that up he will do great.

I agree with u mate, i like froch 2. He's raw and fresh, his style is abit 'a la' prince nas-ish. He will defo get caught b the top guys in the division, but i reckon he might take calzaghe out (whom i dont rate at all)!

I would like Carl Froch to look at David Haye, that guys firepower is awesome, perhaps one of the best attacking fighter punchers,,, he got stopped once and horribly cut last time out. It takes more at the very top top level, and you must have defence. The art of boxing is to hit and not be hit. Hard men and big hitters often carry low gards and are very confident.... wait and see

A 25 year old Calzaghe beat Eubank in 1997. Froch has done fuck all and he's 30 already. So far he's fought at European level. He needs to fight above European level first.

Calzaghe beat a past it Chris Eubank,who also took the fight at 9 days notice.Calzaghe i admit is a great fighter now,but his first 15 fights weren`t as tough as Carl Froch`s first 15.Froch DID impress against a good Brian Magee so your talking bollocks about him not fought anyone.He`s virtually ready to fight at world level.After the next fight a world title shot.

How bout I teach you something! Calzaghe fights bums - standard. He had one good opponent - lacy. I mean, who the fuk was Bika? He pushed calzaghe 2 the limit. Who is Manfredo? Oh sorry, he got beat by 'the great' Alfonso Gomez LMAO and then knocked out a 38-year-old pemberton. If calzaghe doesnt knock out manfredo in 5. I'll lose the little respect ive got left for him!
