  • what about "King Me?"

  • I loved the album from start to finish and have always istend to them on the treadmill at the gym too. They play what is expected of them, but did experiment on the album somewhat with the singing from Randy, the opera, the strings, and the use of acoustic guitar. However, I understand your point that they should have experimented more, but the bands you listed were experimental bands from day 1. I feel they will experiment more and that this was a stepping stones forward. Great review btw!!!

  • if you are a die hard fan ! u wouldnt say shit about Lamb of god !!! they are legendary and i can certainly say that u wud'nt like it !! fuck you ~

  • @sam72619 He's a fan of music. You clearly aren't a true fan of music. A true fan of any band would be able to admit their flaws

  • @st00pidp0ckets.ever wonder why Lamb of God is called Pure American Heavy Metal?duh ! if they put too much of this new stuff like As i lay dying and Korn did in their new album all this dubstep and bullshit, its not heavy metal anymore ! its like somthing no one wants to listen cuz they r tryin to make music for others to like it, who dont give a fuk abt their own band, while lamb of god on the other hand try to make stuff 4 them self first, and there is where all the hardcore fans are based on

  • @sam72619 Music is an art. There's no room for opinionated people in art, you need to be open and willing to experiment with your sound, (not just to accomodate to others, but to prevent yourself from getting bored as well,) therefore it is important to not to make every single one of your songs sound just like "Redneck" or "Laid to Rest" or any of their other big hits.

  • @st00pidp0ckets other bands can experiment with there stuff,.. but there is a reason Lamb of God is called "the pure American heavy metal" not mixture of R&B, hiphop and what korn did with there new album all that dubstep ?? i mean what the hell ? are they a metal band or what ?

  • @sam72619 If you still enjoy Lamb of God then good for you. Sami gave the band's album a very positive review but when a band doesn't change their sound at all then it reflects their lack of originality. Now more thna ever Lamb of God needs to change their sound, there's a hundred other bands out there trying to sound just like them

  • this cd is a solid 11 out 10 i listen to it everyday

  • I seem to be in the minority, but I'm going to say it anyway. Lamb Of God is insanely overrated.

  • The best damn review ive ever watched. I bought this album today and already listened to the whole album and everything u say about it i 100% agree with u!! im a big Lamb Of God fan i thought Resolution was amazing!! Im going to keep listening to it and i just want to say you definitely know your music!

  • good review, but you have to be a true fan to actually understand what this album is.

  • Ithink this album was awesome. I agree, more acoustic and more singing would have been awesome. However, i thought this was still great. Its almost impossible to satisfy metal fans. if you stay the same, they dont like it. If they experiment, they sold out. Given the circumstances, i think they did pretty well for themselves.

  • listend to log for like 6 years now and I think this is there best allbum so far!

  • 5:42 - yes.

  • i cant listen to lamb of god ... the kind of metal i like is five finger death punch and megadeath, i just cant get into LOG

  • what radio head albums do u suggest to someone just starting to want to listen to them...My Current Fav bands are Metallica and Green day.....anthonysinacori

  • wow, i gotta say you and i share the EXACT same opinion of this album. i would of loved for Randy to keep singing how he did. as i was anticipating the next verse i thought he was going to sing again but did. its not bad but like you said, shouldve experimented more. Rock It Out!

  • i agree with you 90% on the con's. i love the new album BUT i agree you need to dip down from you normal sound. look at Slipknot, Black Label Society, In This Moment, etc the list goes on you know but they have numerous songs that go from screaming to mellow and i love that. i am a huge L.O.G fan HUGE!!! I would however like to hear more acoustic more Randy singing but im satisfied with the album and look forward to tour dates to be released cause i will be there.

  • 56 minutes to run 5 miles???

  • 1:50 - 2:10 basically describes Bring Me the Horizon, and most of the new screaming bands. they all suck.

  • mehh

  • It's a bit one-dimensional in the way that it makes me want to rip shit apart. Album is awesome.

  • Great review man, ive been a lamb of god fan for a while now, ill have to pick this up soon

  • You forgot to mention how this album is guilty of being way too compressed. There is absolutely zero dynamics int these mixes, it sounds sterile and squished. Unfortunately many modern bands sound like this and it needs to change...

  • I'm definitely not into the new album, but not as bad as Wrath imo.

  • runing 5 miles is nothing. try running for 9 miles for ten minutes

  • @mafejr You're cool

  • @mafejr I think you're confused. I ran five miles as in distance not speed. If you can run 9 miles in 10 minutes you should be in the olympics

  • Personally, I believe that Lamb of God have really created a sound that is unique to them. You can say whatever you want about how they are just playing really aggressive metal like eveyone else, But only a lamb of god song sounds like a lamb of god song, You can instantly tell the band within 30 seconds of the song. Not many other Really aggressive bands can say the same

  • yup dude totally agree!I think if you use the approach of "if it ain't broke don't fix" it gets a little cliche in my opinion.Mastodon, isis, neurosis and many others that are great bands who take chances and step out of that comfort zone.I still love the music LOG puts out and I probably always will because I grew up listening to them in my early to late teen years but probably wont put them on the same level as the other bands i listed.Probably will pick this up soon just to check it out though

  • Thumbs up for talking a little bit about music theory. I have to disagree on a band using the samething album after album and keep it interesting. There is a ton of bands who do this and it works such as Slayer, Venom, Deicide, Cannibal Corpse, Behexen, and too many more to name. Yes it works and they should stay with this sound they have and don't change it because when a band changes too much they lose a lot of old fans who have been there from the start such as Metallica.

  • hmmm.... that kind of reminds me of the guitar bridge to the chorus in architects by rise against. Damn that's a cool lick!!!!!!

  • Im not really a big Lamb Of God guy honestly but I saw them live a few years ago and they were spot on live. They sounded exactly the same live as in the studio especially Randy's vocals and I have alot of respect for that. Those arent easy vocals to do especially on a tour consistintly. Also I met Randy and he was a really cool guy.

  • dude you gotta start putting RIOB and/or R!OB in your tags, just tried to find you to subscribe on my new channel and it was a bit of work to find you!

  • @JoelandAmberShow oh sorry about that. I'll be sure to do so in future. Thanks for subscribing!

  • i think it is the best abum ever made and they experimented a whole lot... you would know if you have listened to past albums.... please do more research..

  • i was the guy who asked about Xena or Alex, so sorry for making ya feel weird at all man

  • @WoodstockProd it's all good

  • @RockItOutBlog You did very well explaining the vocal process towards lamb of god, and how randy tries to pronounce unlike most crap-metal.

  • @RockItOutBlog sweetness

  • LOG know that they have a certain fanbase that will expect this kind of album and would be disappointed if they didn't get it, but they have edged in a little experimentation with some songs which is good. It may indicate that they had thought about changing it up before, but we'll have to wait and see what they come up with next, to be certain.

  • Sami! Please review the upcoming Van Halen album!!!!

  • @FootofaFerret I might

  • @FootofaFerret i second that, do the new album please

  • review Pulled Apart By Horses!

  • I totally agree with that Insurrection thing... It would have very appreciated to stop the guturals for a while and get those new Randy's vocals a bit more into the album

  • Trivium change there style every album ! Try them .

  • i hear what you're saying about the one-dimensional sound, but from my perspective, there can be such a thing as one dimensional music done well, like anything with jamey jasta, for instance. lamb of god are capable of pulling off a great kind of one-dimensional metal. i know i enjoyed the album very much.

  • have you ever listened to Between the Buried and Me Sami? they're pretty dang heavy but they also have a very diverse style...i can't think of any other death metal bands with things like surf rock or polka breakdowns in the middle of their songs

  • On thursday for the Metal news talk about Carolina Rebellion 2012 please!!!!

  • 2:00 so true xDDD

  • You basically summed up what I think about the majority new music at the end of that review. Yes, things sound great because production methods are now awesome, and everything is tight because our computers are great at doing that, but the music just isn't the same. People rely far too heavily on the machines to do the work and make them sound impressive, the music is just uninspiring to me. It's sad really.

  • haha thats funny i listened to it while i was jogging this morning also and ran farther than i usually do. I absolutely agree with what you said, ive been listening to lamb since as the palaces burn came out. Although this album is awsome, its really nothing new. But being the lamb fan I am I still love it, much better than wrath

  • I agree with what you said but as for the last part about how they shouldve experiment, it's really hard for a band like lamb of god to experiment I wouldve loved to heard more of the acoustic and singing (which by the way holy fuck that threw me off in a good way) their whole image and general sound is wrapped around being brutal as fuck, even with slipknot you could tell they were more experimental with lamb of god its more a big step, but other then that i could agree with your review.

  • Very very good review Sami! I'm a huge LOG fan, and I must agree with you almost all the way. But the thing with these guys, I think that is the way the want to sound, they found their sound and tend to keep it that way I think, just like AC/DC, but you can tell they experimented a tiny bit on this record, and I hope for the love of god that they will change it up a bit more on their next album.

  • Sami should keep reviewing metal. Except real metal, not alternative, deathcore, djent, metalcore , nu-metal or any of that generic shit.

  • I loved it. I love Lamb Of God and it was a fantastic offering.

  • At first I was 'meh..', but I do discover new things everytime I listen to it, and start to like it more. Insurrection is my favorite, it has a great feel to it, those octaves really take you to some sad place, and I love every moment of it.

  • You've highlighted a point that always gets me with metal bands, so much of it is the same, it seems that bands are afraid to experiment because fans always seem to complain when they go in a different direction, I think people need to be more open minded.

  • what do you think of arch enemy to me great vocals from that band

  • I haven't heard it yet but it seems it's a lose lose situation with bands experimenting. If they don't experiment people say it's boring and repetitive, if they experiment to much though, they do something like korn and end up making a different genre of music which still gets the same amount of hate

  • I liked it, I'm not into all the screaming angry voicing (mostly because I can't hear the lyrics and can't sing that way myself), but that is Lamb of God. I think experimentation can work, but with them it would be to include longer slower melodies or a slightly longer progression from accoustic to driving metal, much like you indicated, but then who wants a ballad - these guys are not about the slow song - anger and rage is the game. Metalheads find this to be a great outlet for our own angst.

  • 40th comment oorah

  • 7th album duder.

  • Havent listened to it yet but good review sami :) i love lamb of god so ill probably enjoy it

  • if you've been listening to Lamb of God for awhile this is a step up. Specially compared to Wrath which seem incredibly unoriginal, Resolution's songwriting has been stepped up to be more original. Though the songs do maybe blend together a little its a step up from the last album and a really good, solid album while not reinventing the wheel at all

  • I'm not a fan of screaming/death growls so I just decided to look up Insurrection on YouTube & I really liked it until about halfway through the song. I like the instrumentation but I wish there would've been more clean vocals because he's got a pretty good singing voice, definitely more pleasant to hear than the screaming & growling.

  • really don't wanna be a dick, but if you listened to REAL aggressive metal music, LoG sounds like child's play.

  • I think Resolution is their best album so far! :D

  • they had choirs and orchestras on the last song.... they did experiment!

  • @oiletaver that's always lame on metal albums. You didn't use strings once and then release them on the last track? Chessy

  • @RockItOutBlog Are you a Meshuggah fan, Sami? I sure hope so. New album Koloss in March.

  • @UberCoolBen I have to get more into their music. I hear great things about them

  • @RockItOutBlog How is orchestras on metal albums always lame? Metallica's S&M was incredible.

  • @RockItOutBlog even though i love system of a down, even they did it on the album toxicity, and honestly, this year isn't that good for rock in my opinion, cause 2011 was an amazing year, foo fighters, arctic monkeys, the strokes, radiohead, RHCP, black keys, blink, social distortion, rise against, etc. i don't see much happening this year, van halen's new song's horrible, springsteen is alright but not amazing, and the thing to look forward to is the sabbath reunion, and nofx maybe recording

  • @RockItOutBlog I hate chessy music, with those pawns and queens everywhere...

  • @RockItOutBlog i didnt think it was cheesy at all....i thought it was super cool and epic sounding

  • Just a heads up for you Sami, news just got out that Jack White is releasing a solo album on April 24th

  • @TonyElTigre42 yup. You can stream his new single on my website

  • @RockItOutBlog You are a god send! I couldnt get the it to play it on the TMR site but yours worked just fine.......

  • This review was dead on!

  • You should try Killswitch Engage's early release Alive Or Just Breathing if you want depth. =D

It's a brutal record, yet you can feel the pain in Jesse's voice, and the anthemic chorus, IDK if that won't touch you.

  • I agree, I think Randy did an amazing job on vocals for this album but John Campbell's bass lines are overlooked. He did an incredible job on the bass for the album but he doesn't get the praise he deserves. Yes, I am a bassist but if you listen to the bass you will see what I mean. Good review though.

  • LOG has always been like eating fast food. Sometimes no matter how much people tell you that steak is better, more delicately flavored, sometimes you just want yourself a cheeseburger and no steak in the world will change that

It's to the point, it's simple, it's more of what fans are asking for, and we need bands to fill niches like that. For subtler sounds and thought-provoking lyrics I wouldn't turn to LOG in the first place anyway. That's what Dream Theater, Symphony X, etc are for.

  • great review sami

  • It's still Lamb Of God! SO FUNKIN' METAL!! \,,/

  • I agree with you on the album. It's intense, it's awesome, but unless I want to REALLY listen to that type of metal, I'm not going to listen as often.

Did you realize you are only a few hundred away from 40K subscriptions? Good work!!!

  • @ASXL41 thanks!

  • haters gonna hate!!

  • Props for running 5 miles! And another great review as they have been so far./

  • very good review as usual sir. What I think we must realize is that LOG is in a sticky situation. By this I mean that if they stray too far from what fans have come to love, they lose those fan's interest. If they don't innovate enough, they get bashed for not evolving as a band. I think that they found a very good balance of these two things with this album, and you couldn't have asked for much more.

  • @tHEgIANTkID4 I enjoy the album but I feel it's just a wee bit shallow. Would have loved more depth. Thanks for watching!

  • Never heard of Lamb of God, I'm more like a classic but I really like your reviews

  • @jp11mralfa thanks for watching!

  • I'm gonna listen to it right now

  • @Kimalakaha you do that

  • hey sami, are you going to review some classic albums? If so can i suggest... Kezia by PTH

  • @the8888

    Classic?

  • @DRM406 probably the wrong wording, i should have said albums that aren't necessarily new releases, and since i suggested it i thought, why not suggest my favourite album of all time first :P

  • Nice review! Haven't listend to this album yet, but Lamb Of God is brutal. Gonna listen soon!

And, have you lost weight Sami? ;)

  • @jaapblack I have lost weight. About 16 lbs. Thanks for noticing and for watching!

  • @RockItOutBlog so what do you think about doing album reviews that aren't new releases? maybe you could review some classic albums or some of your favourites, or maybe an early creed album XD can i suggest reviewing Kezia by PTH, I adore that album...

  • 5th!!! SUCK MY PEEPEE FAGGETS

  • i really disliked this album.

  • @MBvolcom92 your fucking nuts

  • @TheMattSchabel *You're. Also he might not be nuts for all you know. Did you forget that people are entitled to those things....what are they called?......That's right OPINIONS!

  • First, :p

    LAMB OF GOD! \m/

  • first

  • awesome sami!

    You are awesome ;)
