  • Also, I like both Roses. This one looks more like the character of someone who gets a lot of guys because of her looks. While I liked the acting of the other Rose, and the way she spoke was charming, so you could well see her sweet-talking a lot of guys.

  • "If Sheridan were here he'd be appalled"... I think if Sheridan was there he'd be gawking at the guy in the towel

  • the new rose is a terrible actress...

  • thank god for Mary Millar!!!!!

  • does anyone know why they have changed roses?

  • @ddymok The first actress had conflicting work duties and had to leave, apparently.

  • Haha I love her!

  • Whats wrong with milk bottles ? Its an optional service to your door and is actually more environmentally friendly.

As for outdoor plumbing -very uncommon usually in very old places in the countryside, like the US.

An unbigoted, educated mind that doesnt live in a world of stereotypes - Good to be European.

  • can i ask a question? why is it any of Hyacinth's business? and why are there still milk bottles in Europe in the 90's? nevermind. they still have homes with outdoor plumbing over there. Good to be an American.

  • @musiqtube1 Wow. Way to be narrow minded.

  • @Booski1974 well i guess if u feel that way. we narrow minded american's have indoor plumbing and drink milk from cartons and jugs. so just call us Advanced America. [rolls eyes].

  • @musiqtube1 obviously you don't travel America that much. Not everyone is plumbed inside, and there are still people doing the bottle thing. Doesn't make us better, more advanced or less.... is just different. The difference is what makes british comedy so wonderful.

  • @musiqtube1 sounds like american mrs. bucket. just not so funny! FYI i have a milk service in america because i think their milk is better and it's very convenient- just pick it up at the door. it's Oberweis milk, it's also humane and sustainable and "come from a picturesque cows on the hill" ( i actually know farms it's coming from (some of them anyway))

  • @musiqtube1 Most people here buy cartons, and have indoor plumbing. Don't judge an entire country on one sitcom and some misinformation you heard from somewhere else. America doesn't have the monopoly on all things modern.

  • It must be SO FUN for her to play Hyacinth

  • "I will not share milk bottles with an illicit love nest!"

  • we could be sharing the same milk bottles

  • I love this show XD British humor is something extraordinary :D

  • OHH NICE!

  • "Come in. Come INNNNNN!" Love it!

  • love the new Rose........beautiful woman.

  • 8:26 onslows plan is exaclty what i would suggest

  • I prefer the Original Rose, but the Rose of now is good too

  • @MegaJParry i completely agree the old Rose was the original there for will be my favorite always. She was soo dramatic and it suited her character perfectly!!

  • If Sheridan were here, he'd be appalled!

  • @fran9860 yeah if Sheridan was there he'd be checking him out!! Hyacinth is so in the dark about him and his new 'roomate' lmao

  • raise Sheridan? isn't he in his 20's?

  • "We'll have to move."

    "MOVE?!!"

  • @twiwonder Yes thats the best bit of this part. The looks on Richards face.

  • @nevfx Have to feel sorry for the poor guy.

  • i will not share milk bottles with an illicit love nest ~!

  • LOL! Brilliant! "We'll have to move."

  • It's amazing to think the Rose actress was in her mid fifties here. She has the body of a 30 year old.

  • "Informally dressed with a debauched expression."

    I love this show.

  • Hyacinth reminds me of my late stepmother, a social climber. She was from Virginia, daughter of a roadbuilder. She was active in politics, met a couple of presidents. She made a remark once, "Whenever we see ... and ...." referring to a past president and his wife. I cringed.

  • "We have to move."

    "MOVE?"

  • at 3.58: Onslow, if I ......... would you have married again?

    please, what did he say?

  • @moosopal I had died in child's birth

  • "I will not share my milk bottles with an illicit love nest!"

  • "oh nice" :)

  • This is a funny show because Hyacinth wears the trouser in their marriage. Ricahrd just agreed with her even if he does not think that she right.

  • Also isn't it ironic that Hyacinth is as average as can be, she is not even the rich sister. Violent IS the richest of them but she is down to earth as is daisy and rose. Hyacinth has nothing to constitute her snobbery, but is the main one trying to look down on people.

  • She reminds me of my aunt with her made up outlandish demands, rules, and ideas. Thinks no one knows anything but her. Feels obligated to give advice to everyone on things she knows absolutely nothing about. In everybody's business, and making people with her uncomfortable in b/c of what others think. She had a problem b/c I fell asleep in the car saying other ppl would think something were wrong with me. I said it they have never seen a person sleeping, the problem was with them not me.

  • funnily enough one of my neighbors is just like hyacinth. lol. it'svery interesting... =)

  • This Rose is the best!

  • @brookedillman81 Yes and she is the prettiest. The other one looked so horselike to me ... LOL

  • I will not allow her to slip in to moral turpitude!

  • I love Hycanith in this show !!!

  • Wow, it went from an overnight stand, to giving Elizabeth an exorcism, to her being a madame. Beware of assumptions children, they can be quite dangerous. And what do she mean by 'continental'?

  • She is referring to the continent of Europe.

  • @conther33 Okay, I thought so but wasn't too sure. I should watch more of this to brush up on my Brit speak...That sounds like a good reason to stay up all night watching this right? -Looks around for those who agree...silence- No? Ahhh, come on!

  • @Blackthorne369 ill agree^^

  • @basenjilover Yay! We shall glue our eye balls to the wonder that is the Bucket and all of their shenanigans! Yahoo!!!

  • 7:53 Richard's expression lol

  • 7:53 I think its one of the funniest of richard's expressions I've seen

  • "RIGHT...GOT IT, BEAUTIFUL DAY!"

  • lololol "we'll have to move."

    "MOVE?!?!"

  • i want to buy onslow's television!

  • my dream is to live in the same house with daisy, rose and onslo but not with their father lol.

  • One of the best epidodes!!

  • I love that "I will not have milkman reducing me to a name on a piece of paper" she is so hilouarious or however you spell that word.

  • could someone explain to me what channel 4 is that hyacinth was talking about

  • @KentuckyBrad1980 Channel 4 is a competing television network to the BBC here in the UK.

  • The FH is the logo for the New Zealand earth-moving and road construction company Fulton Hogan. Apparently a friend gave it to Geoffrey Hughes in real life, and he wore it on the show.

  • i wonder what F H stand for on onslows hat

  • @prozombiekiller

Probably Fuck Hyacinth.. nah. I've been wondering that too, you know.. Richard ftw!

  • hahah its one of lifes great mysterys i suppose

  • LOL! Good one!

  • '' I'll tell you why I don't like chatting when I'm making love to you. Because the last time right in the middle of things you said to me...Onslow if I'd died in childbirth would you have married again?''- Onslow

    ''Well would you?''- Daisy

''Married again? I couldn't even finish making love''- Onslow

    this is so funny

  • I WILL not share bottles with an illicit love-nest!!!

  • that was richard in excalibur??lmao...awesome

  • Does anyone else remember Hyacinth also starred in To Sir With Love and Richard starred in Excalibur my favorite of all the King Arthur movies.

  • we have to move.

  • Funny how Rose calls so many of her lovers Mr whatever and that they all have such daft convoluted names-Bickerstaff, Crabtree, Heppleworth, etc. Is it cos they're married or is it a dig at British etiquette (no first names, etc) I wonder....

  • I love the way Hyacinth says "Elizabeth is my friend!"

It just shows that she really does see her as a friend.

  • I actually feel sorry for Hyacinth most of the time. She tries to be exetremely nice, but is competely unawhere that most people (save for Richard, and sometimes Elizabeth) are either scared of her, or downright dislike her.

I think she's wonderful woman, full of charm and character, with a white slimline telephone and hand painted Royal Doulton thrown in.

    :)

  • LOL@msunami-I so agree....Hyacinth means well....she's just clueless.

The sisters are all so different...wonder if it's the men they chose in their lives that made the difference in them.....or not(when it comes to Rose)

  • I doubt that it is the men who made them different. If anything, I think that they would change the men who are in their lives. For example, if Onslow or Bruce were married to Hyacinth, I doubt that they woudl act the way that they do. Or if Richard had been with Daisy, I imagine he'd be a lot more assertive. But it wouldn't really be the same - I like the couples as they are. :-)

  • Patricia Routledge plays the part SO well, I don't know how they film these episodes with a straight face!

  • @pipala1984 they did have quite a few outtakes ... LOL funny ones.

  • @Mongo76 It is one of the great English comedies that never gets old :-)

  • @msunami I do feel sorry for her, in fact. She is just always trying to change her station in life, and that is what causes all her perpetual troubles. Imagine if she had actually been born a duchess or something? Her life would be perfect then.

  • @KingofStarfox ha! she'd be driving all the royalty insane!

  • @msunami

Agree! She is wonderful, in a annoying kind of way though.

  • Comment removed

  • @msunami i agree.

  • I want my own bottles back

  • poor Richard! lol i love this show!

  • This Show is awesome~

  • "You go with Daisy. If a Bickerstaff rings, I'll tell him you love him."

    This show is priceless.

  • I love how Hyacinth is so protective of Elizabeth but I don't think Elizabeth sees it that way!

  • "I warned her against watching Channel 4!"

  • I love onslow and daisy. It's frightening how much they remind me of my grandparents!

  • Daisy is really adorable... and I agree in thinking Onslow's quite sweet underneath as well.

  • For an older woman this Rose has killer legs! Good for her! The other Rose had nice legs too. Why did she only stay for 1 series? Thanx 4 psting!

  • She joined Emmerdale. (Edna)

  • ah thanx good 2 know :P

  • "I will not share milk bottles with an illicit love nest..."

    *falls off chair laughing*

  • telefresh[dot]com/video-playlist/22 you can see the whole episode continuouslly

  • why don't you embed the series onto telefresh. I have done so with allo allo and I can watch it full screen continuously. quite cool

  • "It's matter of complete indifference to me, whether it's sterilized, pasteurized, immunized, or privatized!"

  • If u would watch season 1 it would make it much clearer ( and with your attitude towards 23GreyRaven THANK YOU for making it clear you were not American - and showing your true colors )

  • Yes. My dear, Im from liverpool. Im no american .. UHH

  • Lol. What is this. Ive never heard of this show. Looks kinda funny though. But why are they so weiry of a guy next door .. lol

  • It's British humor, my dear. You'll learn to love it if you don't already do!

  • Well, sorry for only trying to be helpful. It's a little hard to tell where a person is from by reading a text comment.

I didn't mean to offend or call you a yank, I was only trying to be helpful. Most people I meet have no idea how stuff like this could be funny, so I just assumend you didn't know either. Again, sorry.

  • Hyacinth is old fashioned enough to be shocked by the thought of someone living in sin.

  • Oh,I love this show hilarious I am a huge fan of Britcom even though,I'm a yankee huge fan of anything british really .

  • its funny at 8:48 when that sound effect comes in

  • I love the way Rose walks into Daisy and Onslow's room without knocking.

  • i WILL not have milkmen reducing me to a piece of paper!

LMAO funny as hell, gotta love keeping up appearances, wish it was still shown

  • If Sheridan were here he'd be appalled

  • Yeah, I remember this Rose as well. Had never seen the other Rose till last week when I watched Season one for the first time. I liked the original Rose as well. She looked older but was still a funny, sexy older woman.

  • Ohhh yes! I love this Rose the best... she reminds me of Blanche from Golden Girls lol

  • Thanks so much for posting, Patricia Routledge is my muse!

  • AMEN!

  • "informally dressed with a de.... expression" What is the word she used?

  • 'Debauched' lol

    Means immoral.. sexually corrupt

Hyacinth uses the best words :)

  • Thanks : )

  • Well I must say that Emmitt was completely out of line coming out to get the milk in only a towel. I can understand the shock on Hyacinths face!

  • well have to move!lol!

  • I love KUA!

  • Do people really still get their milk delivered???

  • Yes,some households. The milk is delivered before 0600.

  • Most people did til about 20 years ago, now people go to the supermarket coz its cheaper

  • Its a matter of complete indifference to me whether its sterilised, pasturised immunised or privatised. lmao!!!

  • and me another fave moment of mine is on the ep angel gabrial blue where rose tells onslow and daisy there's a fella in daddy's bed! :D

  • the two rose died. so sad.

  • I Love Hyacinth Lol

  • "I will not share milk bottles with an illicit love nest!" LOL!

  • Was that episode when Emmet met Hyacinth first time?

  • this is it!

  • I don't like the second rose compared with the first

  • this has 2nd rose, she died in real life, first rose is edna birch in emmerdale, i mean u cant gt two more different characters

  • first one was edna ffrom emmerdale, shes still alive

  • They don't make them like this anymore.

  • now we know what we are looking for an old man in pajamas.wrong! lol this cracks me up
