Well, they've explained Harry's return now, which I was glad they did with a way that didn't necessitate the OMD/BND thing. I think the worst one was when they told us flat out, "Ha-ha! It's Kraven's daughter! You didn't expect that, did you?" Well, actually, I did. I thought that Hammerhead story kind of stunk though, especially with Spidey suddenly having the classic angel/demon complex.

well I can tell you that this week amazing spider-man 583 sold out first, second printings and going for a third. however it's just because of the obama hyped cover. hahaha oh yeah... in that issue, peter picked up a drunk betty brant and let her wasted friend with a clubber douche who trying to pick her up. so spiderman approve a drunked girl being left alone to be taken advantage of and potentially date rape. how iresponsible.

Contnuity is what made Marvel marvelous a the start anyway, it doesn't limit the story, it makes it richer. I know I'm not Kev, but one way is the smaller barcode with a 5-digit block of numbers above it. The first three digits are for the issue number, the last two are to indicate if it's a variant or the printing. A variant would be like 00121, where a reprint might be 00112.

Even though I don't read Spidey religiously (I did get #577 for the Punisher appearance), I agree with you and your stance on quality vs. quantity. It's the same deal with the Punisher: it's great to have more than one book a month, but War Journal is really low quality, and hated by most fans (at least the ones I speak with.)

In the beginning, I thought the Brand New Day was a bad idea. But now, as the year went on I started to like it. For the most part, I agree. It sucks how they just made shit happen unexplained. What I do like is the dialogue, and I like the new web of characters. And thats really it. It doesn't make sense, and it is continuously misleading. I don't read comic books much at all, but even I wish Marvel didn't fuck around with the continuity. More than half the time, it messes things up, and the only time it doesn't is when it's been planned out and explained, and as far as I know, Marvel didn't do either. Or not very well, at the very least. Spider-Man is, of course, one of my favourite superheroes so it does make me unhappy the way Marvel has been treating the franchise as of late. I hope they get their shit together soon.

BTW... What If: Back in Black comes out just before Christmas. Think you could review that? I have been thinking of picking that one put as BIB was the last decent Spidey arc for me.

I'm a big Spidey fan since I read the first Brand New Day issue I've not picked up/read amazing spiderman since but have been keeping up with the story through wikipedia to see what the hell is happening The whole jackpot was a complete waist of time and like you said why bring back Harry, from what I can tell they have'nt used him as any big plot device it just feels like they brought him back just to have him back.
