producers give the worst interviews ever! does he really think that people wana see Avatar for the characters? NO WE DON'T, we all wana see it for the fact that it's James Cameron making an action film with no limitations!
so when you heard about Avatar, did you start thinking "oh, i hope i get a story about self discovery" or did you think "this could be the greatest action film ever"
One would assume that most straight action Movies would be awesome when they first see the trailers, when in actual fact they appear to be rather ridiculous 'Transformers' for example. After Films such as 'The Lord of the Rings' one should perhaps keep an open mind to the story at hand. No! action film ever succeeds on its own, without a decent storyline to it.
In my opinion it is story that keeps fans returning the cinema and not the action.
well i've technically already seen this story before when it was called Dances With Wolves.
my 2 favourite films of all time are Aliens & Terminator 2, and it's not the story that i love so much about them.
i just CANNOT wait to see Avtar, Cameron is THE greatest film maker ever. the only complaint i have about him is that there's no Special Edition DVD of True Lies and there's gonna be no True Lies sequel.
but i mean, most people's favourite part of Terminator 2 is was the big bike chase at the start or that amazing shot of the helicopter flying until the bridge at full speed.
and of course, the train fight from Spider-Man 2 & the highway fight in the first Transformers film, shame it only lasts about 40 seconds, but it's amazing while it's on!
@ajmrowland There is certainly no denying that, profits do help. However I will go on to say that this is something for the business men and producers to worry about. Think of it as the Business man and the Artist. The law of their professions would dictate that they should not get on well with each other, however both must realise that they need each other in order to achieve the best possible result.
@usmanater Yeah, its just that there's too much business and not enough art. how many more superhero movies are we getting? Green Hornet already opened, and then we have Green Lantern, Captain America, the Flash, a Spider-Man reboot, Avengers, Thor, Iron Man 3, etc.
I'd see a Green Arrow movie but that wont be untill all the more popular franchises are milked
ahah I love his speech =)
