not lipped. Mariah is a legend and to me no one can top her vocals. Ok her voice isn't what it used to be (you'd have to be deaf to not hear it. But she's been in the business a loooonnng time. Working none stop for over a decade. you compare her to Celine and whitney? both of them combined haven't worked half as hard as she did. Mariah has set the standard for female vocalists, songwriters and producers.

i like this live version of underneath the stars better than the CD version, the high notes stands out here, but they kind of becomes the harmony behind the main melody. like the one at 2:29, 2:40 etc

I am also a huge lamb fan! I refer to daydream era as mariah's golden age, her voice was as pure as silk... but unforunately i believe her singing style at the time was quite dangerous, because if you guys pay close attention, mariah didn't sound that way with earlier releases at the time, in daydream era she actually sings and octave above with most of her songs, it seems as if she increased her vocal range, but it resulted in her voice taken a darker tone for butterfly

Her voice declined in 1993 after overusing it too much. That is how her voice sounded in the TEOM Era. But she overused it again!!! overused it in 90-93 90-96 05-08. For some reason she trys too hard, she strained when she didnt have too. Make It happen is one of her hardest songs, but now she descends it to a lower key.
