Notice how Disney seems to always forget to mention the bit about how Annasophia's character Leslie dies suddenly and for no good reason?

It's now one of my favorite movies (up there with what dreams may come, and bicentennial man), but I absolutely HATE Anna's character dying. I've been very depressed the past few days after seeing the movie because of that. It seems to have effected me more than the real death of anyone I know, and that's an impressive thing to do.

Leslie doesn't die for no good reason.

Her death has a reason.

There's no reason for that. You can teach someone about loss and this or that without using death.

It's just the "easy way". And the thing is it's Annasophia as the character that makes it so tragic/meaningful. If she was overweight, a minority, or handicapped in some way, I doubt it would have had the same effect.

I would have the same effect because I read the book away before I saw this movie.

It has nothing to do on what the character looks like because when I read the book, I though Leslie was Jess in the illustrations.

And it wouldn't work if she was handicapped because she wouldn't be able to do the things Leslie could do.

There is a reason,

It shows that you have to appreciate friends you get and how important friendship is.
