In the second movement my piano teacher had put a natural next to a note that wasn't written in the piece. I'm not sure if he is right, I wanted your opinion. Great job, by the way. This is the way Scott Joplin intended it to sound like!
@awesomejasim It looks like there are 2 alternative versions of Bethena. I found one on imslp.org which has E-natural then E-flat in the right-hand in bar 35 and bar 43. But all the other free versions have only E-flats in these bars including mfiles.co.uk. Unless anyone knows which version Scott Joplin played, we should assume that both versions are correct and it's down to personal preference.
But thanks very much for mentioning this - If I find out any more I will post it here.
this is really good, but have you seen the movie Benajmin Button? i think it is slower when they play it in the movie.... i like it slower, but i assume the song is played faster like this 5stars :)
Yes, I've seen the movie and you're right - it is a little slower in the movie with more rubato (variations in speed). It depends on personal taste. To play it slower you need a really good piano tone and excellent control.
I have piles of music on top of my piano too, lol

this song hurts my soul. it makes me want to shed tears, why?

@MadridistaFG7 Me too! I don't think anyone has adequately explained why music can move us to tears.

Amazing how a slower, more restrained and controlled tempo affects the mood and quality of this piece. Extremely well done!

I love this version, you play it slower than other players (as it should be) and it gives it a smoky bar atmosphere. Great! Super work mate.

I agree. It's a beautiful piece no matter how it's played, but I prefer it when played slower. It's much calmer, sweeter, to me.
