A lot of people don't care whether social security or anything else is constitutional. I can sympathize, we didn't write the constitution so why should it be forced on us? But it's better to demonstrate how these programs don't help and actually hurt people more. Currency competition is a free market fundamental. When the constitution conflicts with the free market, where does Ron Paul stand?

@shamgar001 It's a matter of the legal tender issue. When you pay somebody in dollars, they aren't free to say "no you have to pay me in gold.". If you try to pay someone in gold, they can say "cash only". This gives USD a competitive advantage that has virtually eliminated all other competition. If you want a free money market, the government has to shut up and let people figure out what they want to use as a currency and write it into their contracts for themselves.

Seems that only one candidate actually listens to the news, and Ron Paul is acknowledging the problems. The FED actually should owe the taxpayers a lot of money. Why? The constitution states that only congress can coin money. Yet this privilege has been passed onto the FED which is not even part of our government. The FED is a privately owned and ran. FED is printing money out of thin air and then charging us (taxpayers) a interest on that debt. SHOULDN'T WE BE THE ONE CHARGING THE "FED" A FEE JUST TO HAVE THAT PRIVILEGE? I subscribed. Well thought out and presented. I have been a Ron Paul supporter since the '80s and watched this movement grow over the years. Why it has taken so long for people to wake up is beyond me. This time I think we really have a shot.

Seems that only one candidate actually listens to the news, and Ron Paul is acknowledging the problems. Since the majority wish to ignore the dishonesty and theft which has been going on, the plunder will continue to destroy the United States, and no one will stop it. The national parks and other public treasures and trusts will be sold to foreign holders of the dollar, and the USA will never recover a "the buck stops here" policy ever again. The demopubs and republicrats are equally useless in our current government. Ron Paul is the only real solution and he doesn't fit in with either of these clubs. I don't understand why Tom is playing the dem/repub argument when that's not RP's thing. It's not about right/left, it's about what's right and wrong. Republicans used to be about smaller government but not anymore. Now it's all the same, regardless of what their campaign promises or party might be.

The FED actually should owe the taxpayers a lot of money. Why? The constitution states that only congress can coin money. Yet this privilege has been passed onto the FED which is not even part of our government. The FED is a privately owned and ran. FED is printing money out of thin air and then charging us (taxpayers) a interest on that debt. SHOULDN'T WE BE THE ONE CHARGING THE "FED" A FEE JUST TO HAVE THAT PRIVILEGE? If anyone else did it, it would be consider illegal+counterfeit.

I remember the media made fun of Ross Perot and his ears.. Remember? People around me even laughed when I told them Ross Perot agenda is interesting and I would definitely consider voting for him. Instead people voted for Clinton cause he was a pretty boy, spoke better than Ross, and can play jazz. At the time I thought ..wow, if that is the way people are basing their vote... this country is in for a hard time downhill.

I subscribed. Well thought out and presented. I have been a Ron Paul supporter since the '80s and watched this movement grow over the years. Why it has taken so long for people to wake up is beyond me. This time I think we really have a shot.

We should have listened to Ron Paul during his 1998 bid for president. We would have had a two term president and we wouldn't be knee deep in poop with all the obscene spending and war mongering we've experienced. I knew a democrat university graduate. I was in the passenger seat of her Honda Civic, she was driving 50 mph on the interstate while people passed us on both sides and nearly rear ended us going the 75 mph speed limit. I told her that this was dangerous and she said, "50 mph is fast enough!" and then signaled and looked over her shoulder. I closed my eyes and accepted the fact that I was going to die, trapped in a car with a democrat. 2 years later, Obama was elected.
