I saw the MSG show last night in Houston Texas and it was AMAZING! Gary sounded great and Michael was on fire and played brilliantly!!! We were 10 feet away right in front of Michael. Rock Bottom was an encore followed by Doctor, Doctor - incredible show...a must see if they come to your town!

No, this is his FLYING V GIBSON trade markl tha he used for many years before he was force to make a deal with DEAN after he had financial problems due to his personal life,is a long story but all I can say is This is his guitar A gibson Flying V,the best guitar in the world & :

I know DEAN has made modifications to his DEAN V,last January I saw him & his sound is 100 % close to his tone that he had in the80's.he didn't have this tone a couple of years ago when he had switched to the DEANS,!

note:..the mark of true greatness of a legend is when you can listen to a track this old and still hear something different to the detail of his jams. thats what i focus on with schenker. he is the only axeman that demands that type of reverance from me...and thats saying alot because he is on top of a very very short list.

Back in the days when Michael dressed with class Now he looks like he just came from skid row but he still plays like The Man. Rudolph always dresses classy! I just feel he looks better in his late 70`s early 80`s stage dress.

i just wanna draw eveyones attention @6:16 that is when schenker undressed that "V" and raped the hell outta the frets. someone was asking why doesn't he use the pinky? well it would be overkill for one and for another that would make him sound like evryone else. schenker used only 3 because his style and sound was for 3 fingers only. using the pinky you sacrifice feel for speed and scale appeal. im into the feel myself and frankly if he were to use the pinky his tasty riffs would be no more.

i don't think using the pinky sacrifices feel. i think it's just another way to approach playing the guitar.

i does when your playing with a blues style...using the pinky is mostly to get the most outta your scales and not necessarily feel...you don't exemplify a note and bend a string with your pinky...its mostly done with the 3 domimant fingers...there are times to use it but when your schenker its not a necessity for him because his tasty riff have very little place for the pinky..he's plucking blues.

thnx brother...its good 2 c that someone else knows about schenker style playing. being that he only uses 3 he is always at the threshold of mass feel. guys who implement the pinky tend to get stuck with it and then cant live w/o it. therefore limited feel is the consequence. the world can tolerate only 1 Yngwie Malmsteen. whenever i here guys ripping it like Yngwie my first thought is that its Yngwie. then you find out its not you think sure sounds like em. make no mistake schenker is who he is

Schenker is in aleague on his own just like Hendrix. One reason why Schenker uses 3 fingers is that along with Hendrix he has one of the longest fingers for guitar player...for Gods sake it's in the bone structure guys...he is gifted and a genius.

bone structure to a point...but...there are good guitar players w/o long fingers...this is why schenk is in a class by himself. feel is from the heart/blues...style is something that can be taught...but you cant teach feel no how long your fingers are...there is some truth to bone structure = ability.
