@74pbg Apple sells a HDMI out adapter for 4S and iPad 2. I would suggest that. My cable was a 480i cable. 4S and iPad 2 can push out 1080 video.

Mind you, I have been told its only worth buying the digital av adapter for the iPad 2 as you can use all features.. Using this av adapter has limited features when using with iPhone 4 and so not worth it, especially for $40 that it costs. Think would be more practical and cheaper to go for the composit cable ;o)

Im debating wether to get the HDMI adapter for my ipad2 to play on the HDTV at my house....but i feel like i would use the AV composite cable more because i can use it on the two other tvs in my house and when i go out of town i wouldnt have to worry if the Tv where we are staying would have an HDMI input....Does the AV composite look like crap when u play it or is it really worth sacrificing some extra $ and limited use for better graphics?

@Harrysun5134 Absoulutely a big diffence. Your iPad 2 can pump out 1080P where the AV cable is 360 or 480. In my opinion the HDMI cable for my iPad 2 is incredible. If your not using 1080P or 720P video than save your money.

He has a 3gs right? I have seen games running much smoother on the 4, expecially with the display out app, the framerate is perfect in full hd, even with games like real racing 2 or nova and such. I just ordered an digital av hd adapter from apple store. im super excited

u dont even need that app to view ur iphne/itouch on a tv. all u really need is a composite cord that apple sells. once u get that in the settings u need to change the video settings till something shows up on ur tv

how come they dnt make a program which unplugs the video from the ipods screen when your streaming to the tv? idnt get it and it lags big time

Apple store, plugs into the bottom. The plugin is similar to all iPods.
