  • Like being the CEO of some soft drink company make you qualified to be anything in a tech company.

  • Letting that moron run Apple is like letting a KKK member run the NAACP

  • He will forever be known as "the guy who fired Steve Jobs". Don't know much about the guy and I never owned an Apple product. Only thing "Apple" i ever used was quicktime and VLC-player solved that problem for me.

  • yavsak

  • Scully kept the Apple II alive when Jobs wanted it dead for years at that point. He earned my respect in that regard. Great analogy comparing the macintosh as an automatic and the expandable apple II as a stick shift, where you had far greater control of the hardware.

  • @BrianPicchi Yup. I doubt all these idiot badmouthing him know anything about business of computers at all.

@Koofteh Boring douche? Boring has nothing to do with making executing decisions. Go read a book.

  • this was the douche that almost destroyed Apple Inc...

  • He might be boring, but Sculley had some great ideas. They led Pepsi to the No. 1 Cola in 1978. Before and later they were just chanceless against Coke. His aggressive and innovative marketing strategies made them strong.

  • @LeonieII Pepsi was never No. 1 you useless fuck. They've never even been close. Do some research before you comment.

  • but yep, Jobs was more engineer, man built his company, while this Sculley was mixing water with sugar..

  • Scully could at least behave, while Jobs is kind of a douche bag.

  • @birdhovno yeah its true, scully behave and jobs douche bag which is true! also scully destroy company n jobs save

  • Apple had already pretty much abandoned the II line at the point this video was made. All I see in this video is an arrogant CEO attempting to sidestep the questions.

  • is why apple was phazed out for IBM/MSDOS. Apple II GS was a good PC with no software(hardly any). My parents got a GS on a sale's pitch about all the great graphics/software(that was bullshit, no software planned and very little on shelves at time of purchase in 1987)

  • Fuck you, Scully!

  • Scully actually brought apple from under 1 biilion to over 20 billion in revenue so he is by no means a dead beat, it was a troubled marketing strategy that cost him his job.

  • so nice to see old videos..want more apps and reviews for your Apple devices? Subscribe to AppBuddy

  • The things I did like about John Sculley was his vision for pen computing, the Newton, and the Knowledge navigator.

  • @Arakmatzu it was too ahead of its time...

  • STEVE JOBS ROCKS APPLE!!!!

  • Spindler made things a lot worse - remember the Performas that were written off in early 1996 because Apple flooded the retail market with low-cost Performas and few high-end Power Macintoshes?

  • bloody retard. Because of him, apple almost plunged to it's death. If i ever see him in public, i'll punch him right in the kisser.

  • @bobmamipoko Yep, he was single handily bringing down Apple!!

  • Amiga!

  • Amiga!

  • Sculley: bad vibes... boring, dull, accountant-style, :-(

    Steve rocks! :-))

I know it's easier to say that know but how could the Apple Board feel that this guy was better than Steve to run the company?????

  • Too me after seeing the movie. I think it's because of Steve Jobs attitude the way he talk to his workers with aggressive they fire him. Few years later they brought him back.

  • cuzão

  • steve jobs is better

  • yeah, I know because John Scully kicked Steve Jobs out of Apple in 1985.

  • he didn't kick him out, a vote was put to the Apple board and they voted for Scully. no doubt they got it wrong....

  • @Coldacre oh...

  • @Coldacre well yeah the board made a wrong choice but without it, we wouldnt see Pixar anywhere. But our technology would have been far more advance right now.

  • this guys the biggest retard in the world he doesnt know jack about computers. neither did steve jobs but once a gain he knew something. Steve Jobs was soooo much success was because he was business smart if it was woz running the company it will not be sooooo succesful

  • Boring douche, no wonder he made Apple worse.

  • He actually made it better, no surprise apple started making a loss a year after he left.

  • go back to sell your pepsi asshole !

  • Steve Jobs said, "I hired the wrong guy," referring to this loser. Sculley was named CEO of Apple Computer and he fired Steve Jobs--being one of the main founders of the company. In the time when Jobs was not around Apple, the company suffered due to the decline of its innovation and it was losing popularity. It all stopped when Jobs was later named Apple's CEO just like before.

  • Nice glorification of Jobs there. You may want to keep in mind that in the 80's Jobs was an egomaniac, feared around Apple HQ because of his raging fits when something crossed him.

  • It was actually the oem wintel market that made apple lose popularity. Sculley actually expanded apple.

  • Have you read Odyssey Pepsi to Apple - Isbn - 0-00-637284-8 ??

  • @the768 That's one book I'm going to buy soon, I thought Sculley did great as Apple's CEO, especially when he had no previous experience in I.T.
