Been running a bf526 all morning on a 60mm book with head and tail bands. had a bloody great jam (bad bookblock) but once I cleared it and put the chain back in gear she continued without missing a beat. Not bad for a ten year old machine I'd say! Whats a clip clap cover? Ten years a book binder and still clueless!
My problem with kolbus is they over engineer with the wrong materials. I run pe70 embossers from '78 and they are solid but i also run a da 270 casemaker from '08 and its always breaking down!
Yes, but you know what the casinng in machine that I run is damn big. Let me tell u why, I have these machines in line like this, first is the HD 153.p,BF 527,FE 604,DS 391,SU 651,DS 391 in others words trimmer, case in unit, building in unit, stacker, jacketing unit and stacker. Running at 3600 cp/h or 60 bks per minute.
The best binder Ive seen is a Heidelderg binder running at 21,000 cph at Drupa. I ran an older version when it was still built by Sheriden that had 4 cover feeders that you could have feeding randomly if you wished or we used 2 feeders so if the 1st one missed the 4th would feed 18,000 cph no messin!
Ive just noticed you name "stockholmdave" Do you work for a company in Stockholm that desperatly needed someone to run the binder over a weekend 3 months or so ago because everyone was ill? if so I was almost there but couldnt get there untill saturday which was too late. Hope you got it all done!
Now this is equivalent to binder porn, at my work our Kolbus perfect binder is about eight times as old and three times less officiant. This is cool! Best footage I've seen yet, but I still haven't found any good Mueller or Harris stitcher footage. Can anyone out there help? I just want to show my wife what I do at work.
