i listen to this song a lot. what i like about it is that it makes the hindi language much more accessible than something by (just for example) kishore kumar.

cultural music is fantastic - but when it's a complete 180 to what one knows, it's no longer "cultural"; it's just alien and difficult to relate to. if one cannot relate, one cannot embrace.

so this song gets major kudos on the "bridging worlds" front.
