Most Aoki fans that I talk to have no idea that he has absolutely no original music.  I tell them that and they are like NO HE DOES. and I tell them, ok name me a song? And they can never respond! He just passed through my town. He played live for only 45 minutes for 30 dollars. What kind of BS is that? He DJ's off of a macbook pro for God sakes. Like seriously guys. Actually, he has produced a couple songs. They're not that amazing, but that's beside the point. Most DJ's now perform/DJ with MacBook Pro's or other digital equipment.

DJ'ing isn't about making your own music, its about being able to rock a crowd and put on a show.

I think everyone is missing the point that Aoki is a bad DJ. He drags out songs for minutes without remixing and when he does mix it sounds like CRAP. All he does is play really popular songs and just bumps them hard. He doesn't do a whole lot of mixing. Most people who like Aoki are people who aren't true EDM fans and are a bunch of bros or college kids thinking he's a badass because they saw him at EDC and saw everyone jumping around and assumed he was a super legit artist.

PRODUCERS play there own stuff - Deadmau5, Tiesto, Armin and even then you'll find they still play other peoples music..

Dj'ing is cool and fun, and it's awesome too get the crowd pumped to open for a PRODUCER artist who DJ's. But to tour around and pass yourself off as some legit artist by DJ'ing. I think it's a load of CRAP. aoki does this and most people don't realize he has no original music.

Technically deadmau5 is a live PA and dj, dj because he sits back and lets his own songs play and live PA because he uses ableton to perform some parts of his tracks.
