  • im playing this and in the process of conducting this piece in my high school wind ensemble at eths because my band director knew camphouse and we are the high school in the town of northwestern. so far its been a wonderful experience being able to learn this piece from percussion and an educator's perspective. beautiful performance by concordia

  • I played this in a community band in college under the baton of Richard L. Blatti. Rich is the director of bands at Ohio State and is also a graduate of Northwestern and a student of John Paynter. Unbelievable piece of music.

  • Great! but why did the Trumpet soloist go so fast?

  • I graduated high school with Dr. Camphouse's daughters. He used to be the Director of Bands at Radford University. I met him a few times and he definitely cherished a good player, especially euphonium players, which includes me. The man knows how to make a euphonium player happy with his music.

  • I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Camphouse when I was a music major (Euphonium) at the University of Florida. He gave me some very high and encouraging praise... unfortunately, I switched careers. I am picking my euph up again though.

  • Guess I must have my pieces mixed up. It's cool that you got to meet Dr. Camphouse. I enjoy his music. I too am a former euph player, but have made a 360 degree switch in instruments. But, I still enjoy hearing a nice euph solo, player...

  • I made a 360 switch in careers. From music ed to electrical engineering. Once I get back to where I used to be, I will post some vids here.

  • I really enjoy Dr. Camphouse's music. And this is a really lovely performance. I thought the big solos were for english horn though??

  • The big solos in the beginning belong to the Euphonium.

  • Mark Camphouse is one of my favorite composers. His works are very thought provoking and I like the way he uses the timbres of the wind band. I also like his writing for brass.
