  • i hate apples snow leopard and hate apple i like microsofts windows 7 better and ubuntu 10.4 linux better then junk apples leopard

  • go eat rotten apples! its about Microsoft! and windows 7!!

  • Well, I agree with you as well. I would say, why release an OS if it isn't ready? If they could manage what Windows 7 is doing after ~4 years of polishing, why didn't they take more time on longhorn? If they did, we could be running with XP till now, with full market support, and see this version of Windows appear when it is ready!

I think that's where the Mac OS's beat the Microsoft ones. They are never released unpolished.

  • hey thanks for the response! I appreciate your comments. What I meant about the whipping boy was not about the market, but the technology, the drivers, and legacy applications could not cope with the new security model and only in time could the process move forward through new programming and for the UAC team to code in the bridges past the UAC through a sort of sandbox if you will. In other words because of MS's past the "change" in the model is the whipping boy and Vista represented that.

  • Thanks for posting the response! I see your point about Vista. Vista was a revolutionary change from a security and driver model standpoint from XP. 7 is an evolutionary change from Vista. I just think that what MS has gotten right with 7, they should have gotten right with Vista in the first place.

  • Well I am not sure they could have done anything better, that was my point, how do you ask all your providers and partners to submit driver tests and run all compatibility tests and still be able to release an OS in a reasonable time? It is a tall order, so that is why Vista became that operation and time for providers and developers to and the UAC team to get it right.

  • The development of Vista took 4 years, there was a beta cycle for almost a year, like mrbit10 says, you can't blame Microsoft for the failures of these terrible companies (let's face it, they both deliver overheating hardware with terrible drivers). The sad thing that Windows 7 is now getting all the credit and Vista is the black sheep, when actually all the credit should go to Vista, because Win7 is nothing but a spiced up Vista.
