  • THIS AIN'T NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH!!!!

  • This is not a good version of this song. too many instruments on stage; the backup singer looks exactly like my bff's grandma, the saxophone upstaged the guitars solo; and the guitarist wasn't the same and his solo was too choppy and not clean like the other one.

  • tighter than a tick at snacktime

  • The best version of this song that I found was on mp3ify.com and you can download the mp3 or import it into itunes.

  • One of the best songs form the 80's hands down!

  • Chewing Gum??

  • @motormusic1 still; and he's chewing it hard-LOL!!!

  • OMG, that bass line!!!! One of the clear unsung heroes of the bass. So talented.

  • sounding great, and the bass player is off the chain. classic.

  • I wish I could have gone to this.

  • @Chevy03983

    me too

  • I always did love a bass player who also could kick the shit out of leads.....

  • Love this song and performance...This is what music today is missing...

  • Mike Lindups voice is so amazing..my favourite part of this song is Mike Lindups second verse..those words reminds me of the love I lost :(

  • Mark King is King

  • Makes me wanna dance! (And I don't dance!)

  • One of my favorites of all time. This group is so talented, just wish they would have been larger here in the states as they were in the UK. Our loss, but the music is not lost here!

  • Mark King slappin that bass........Funk Heaven

  • What other hits does this band have? I like this song and I am wondering.. thanks.

  • my favorite band when I was a teenager. I never get bored of their music!

  • Longdeek

He's probably chewing gum to eliminate dry mouth.

  • how can he play bass, chew gum, and sing?

  • @Altitude909 because he is soo awesome. They all are! Listen to that guy sing on the keyboards, like a bird!

  • @Altitude909 Because he is THAT cool. :o)

  • mark king is a fabulous bass player.

  • Thank you very much, Mr. Pete1690!!!!

  • Who is the drummer?

  • @save38 GARY HUSBAND

  • These biatches are in da mix!!! Yeah I sill have the vinyl sitting on a shelf at my parents place in Joburg.

  • very busy bass player right there.

  • When I first heard this on the radio some years ago, I honestly thought these guys were black.

  • real prof. chewing gum at his one hit wonder gig!

  • Meravigliosi!!!!!

  • Can't wait to see these guys in a week.

  • is he chewing gum? Not so estethic.

  • @phillato what does 'estethic' mean?

  • @phillato Greg Lake used to do the same; keeps the mouth from going dry says he.

  • amazing bass player, this guy!!

  • I can just feel the energy radiating from the band. The excitement. Comparing all theese this one has the most energy.

  • It's incredible, M. King have a chewing-gum, sing, play the bass and often have one toothpick.....

  • absolutely brilliant!

  • @rockanthemguy Very true! You can find it on Cary Brothers new album "under Control". Check out the HQ version of "something about you" on YouTube.

Didn't know about him before but he has a new fan

  • Cary Brothers ft Laura Jansen, the 2010 version will touch your heart

  • @mikevanos Very nice cover. They take the song in another direction and make it work.

  • It seems the truly gifted musicians close their eyes when they're playing/singing and the music just flows....Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, Angus Young and on and on. You all know what I mean. Mark has the gift.

  • chewing gum while singing?...what a talent!:D

  • j'ai vu ce Live sur TEVA TV ohh great !!!!! in 1999

  • Mark is chewing gum?

  • he's chewing gum as he's singing it, lol! :D

  • Damn I had no idea that he was so fuckin amazing on the bass!

  • Mark King: one of the bass kings

  • one of my faves of all time!!!

  • This is real live music!

  • who is the back up cat ?

  • Mike Lindup

  • thank you.

  • that's a real band right there!

  • @ImixmaniK Damn straight!!

  • How does someone play so much damn bass while singing?! Ridiculous. And I thought Sting was bad-ass! Also I like this tempo better than the studio recording, which was a little slower.

  • love it

  • The horn section adds that something extra to the song. Just as good live as in the studio.

  • there no bass synth part to this song , its all mark playing, hot water and lessons in love have bass synth in it with mark playing on top for extra kick

  • lo mas chevre de 42...the greatest!

  • this is bass playing at it's finest. The Alembic series bass guitar is superior, and it shows itself sonically here. He could not do that well on any other instrument. Alembics are so clean sonically that every nuance of his finger playing is revealed. Any mistakes would have been magnified dramatically on that bass. Hats off to Mark for bass perfection. Being a bassist myself, i would actually be afraid to play the Alembic because it demands very high skill level, let alone affording it.

  • Another 80s classic by a really top band.

  • the keyboardist does a great job with the tenor part. that makes this song what it is.

  • Saw them in Hamburg a few years ago. they were great. it was amazing to watch him play the bass guitar.

  • great track but im wondering how he can sing wiv chewing gum in hes mouth

  • because hes extremely talented

  • awesome times!!

  • Classic...

  • great stuff

  • nice

  • This is how music should sound :)

  • That's how bass should be played

  • symple the best

  • Love the Steinberger guitar too.

  • daaaarrr izz sumthin bout Ju.. babeeee.. tuunitee.. lol

  • best band on earth

  • Is Mark chewing bubble gum at the same time of doing vocals??? If that's the case, I'm impressed by his timing and control of his jaw:-). Anyway, great band and some of their songs will live for ever

  • This is for you MIke xoxoxoxo

  • The bassist is INSANE! I always thought it was a synth bass when I was growing up...Nice falsetto from the keyboard player, too - hah...

  • It was synth bass with bass guitar over it. Some of the earlier version the keyboard player would play the bass parts on keys while the bass guitar pumped it out also. It adds a mystical touch to the feel of the song. Another track like this is Hot Water and World Machine from that same album.

  • 3:47 -- absolutely LOVE this part! I always sing along to it especially

  • bad ass drummer too

  • Gotta love his voice and bass

  • This song is so awesome and addicting that I bought the ring tone for my cell phone:) I live in the states, and every time

my phone rings in public, I get asked what song is being played!! I hope that people really do pay attention, and Level 42 Fever will continue to rise!!!!.

  • Does anyone else find this tune addicting? The vocal harmonies are incredible. They're even up to the standard of Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young.

  • love it!

  • Thank you--this is awesome!

  • hi al have watched level 42 many times live make my day they are one of the best live ever ...

  • Oh go'wan and blubber, we all do, lol. This song is special to me because it's the first song I heard by them that I absolutely loved, and when I stupidly lost touch of their music (still can't figure out why) this is the song I caught on the radio a few months ago that made me INSTANTLY love them all over again. Really loving the ride too.......Met some really nice people thru YOUTUBE on account of that. Hi Gals....!

  • Honey, I'm right there with you. This song totally sold me from the first time I saw it on MTV...I thought "Who is this?? And more importantly who is the blonde headed hunk with the amazing voice??" I still lose it over him! LOL
