This is not a good version of this song. too many instruments on stage; the backup singer looks exactly like my bff's grandma, the saxophone upstaged the guitars solo; and the guitarist wasn't the same and his solo was too choppy and not clean like the other one.

this is bass playing at it's finest. The Alembic series bass guitar is superior, and it shows itself sonically here. He could not do that well on any other instrument. Alembics are so clean sonically that every nuance of his finger playing is revealed. Any mistakes would have been magnified dramatically on that bass. Hats off to Mark for bass perfection. Being a bassist myself, i would actually be afraid to play the Alembic because it demands very high skill level, let alone affording it.

It was synth bass with bass guitar over it. Some of the earlier version the keyboard player would play the bass parts on keys while the bass guitar pumped it out also. It adds a mystical touch to the feel of the song. Another track like this is Hot Water and World Machine from that same album.
