  • A trade mark no one could duplicate it!!!

Master piece, and a Master Guitarist !

  • wow lots of this sound like the album animals, dogs. sheep,

    love David G

  • You would like to meet Asian bride lushfmlk.info

  • david el verdADERO DIOS DE LA GUITARRA

  • Love this so much. Can't wait for The Orb album with David Gilmour playing.

Thanks so much for this. I love your video on The Astoria of the security tape

song, which was quite enchanting of "A Pocketful of Stones" :))

  • @PinkPrism008

I'm glad you like the video

  • Great track, yep! I pulled out the FOUND cassette of the album, in my car stereo (yes, also cassette tape, F the CD! hahaha

  • Although this song has no lyrics, it is in my opinion one of his best works ever. Something about this song draws me to it and i'll never tire of it.

David Gilmour is thE guitar player that other guitar players should aspire to be. His play is absolutely distinctive and could be isolated in a room of a million players.

  • @tevj Most who strive for the feel have to be admiring the way Dave plays, it's lyrical in approach, the guitar is THE VOICE. Like The Edge (U2) has commented, and BB King, for that matter, he sings between playing so the guitar is not trampled on with his singing

  • The first Gilmour solo album is the best one........this early *Raw* stuff is when Dave was at his peak....mind you...this guy is like a bottle of wine....

  • @cheechnchongsbong The last solo record is not something I play a lot of, I played The Who's last CD more often, that was pretty amazing! I still love the man, In here that Demon Devil mid way in the promo clip, it's the same Satan monster Megadeth used in their video! Go To Hell

  • @MetallicBill

I believe the demon devil you're referring to in the video is Hell Boy. I don't know if this song is also included in a HellBoy soundtrack or possibly used in the movie. I'm sure someone knows....

  • @tevj I think they used a similar costume for Jack Black's big hit about the Greatest song ever, it's got a bit of Devil went down to Georgia vibe to it. Tenacious D!

  • @tevj

I believe it's from the movie Legion with Tom Cruise.

  • @Imheavymetal : you mean the film, LEGEND -- a pretty shitty movie by all accounts, other than Tim Curry's Devil wardrobe

  • @tevj : No, it was film that came out in 1985 called LEGEND....it sucked

  • @hazor777 The story and acting were kinda cheesy, but the cinematography was superb. Just about made the whole thing worth watching.

  • @cheechnchongsbong .... Amen brother !

  • Rent ..me!!

  • Brillian !

  • David Gilmour é Mesttre,meu maior idolo!

  • very good.1978.

  • I never noticed that What Do You Want From Me is basically the same song. No wonder I like both songs so much.

  • @TauRiOneill Wow! I just got that now. The guitar solo material is practically the same. Good call.

  • I HAVE GUITAR BACKING TRACK FOR THIS

  • @OfficialNeilGard

you have a guitar backing track for Raise My Rent? Please explain... !

  • @tevj Well, i have a guitar backing track which i made for guitarists to jam along to.

  • pure Gilmour

  • has anybody else noticed this song is the same as the song off of Division Bell "What Do You Want From Me" without the lyrics, still a great song though

  • You're probably referring to the overdrive in the lead guitar.

  • sorry for the other comments, but yes, refeering to the lead, big muff correct?

  • I believe it to be a big muff yes.

  • ok, cool. as long a we guitarist can come to a conclusion. best regards man

  • listen to that big muff

  • There's no big muff in this song, there's an electric Mistress though.

  • Comment removed

  • Actually I do, Gilmour is using a modified Pete Cornish effect board that he used on animals, that includes the mistress, the delay and an mxr tube driver, that you for some reason takes as a big muff. yeah he uses a big muff on the record a lot, but not on this song, there'd be a bit more bass in the lead had he used one, As a twelve year guitarist I'd know.

  • Both the Big Muff and the Electric Mistress was added during rehearsals in late 1976, connected via send/returns, lying ontop of the board and was built into the board on October 25. 1977.

  • David's guitar playing is hypnotic. Always has been. And I've been a PF fan since 1971.

  • I s that Earls Court at 5:25?

  • I'm pretty sure that photo wasn't taken in Earls Court since the stadium in the photo is roof less!!!

  • "Hey You" is the song that comes to my mind. I DO like Floyd but not a huge fan. The reason is that there are easily 5+ other songs that this one sounds like. They had a GREAT sound, but used it to death. To me, one song seems to be very much like the next. This will piss people off too, but I think their best album is Animals, DSOTM is over-rated... unless you still pop acid regularly... in which case ANY Floyd album will do! No question - GREAT sound... They just never varied it too much.

  • i wish this song was constantly playing in my ear

  • David is the reason I play guitar, just wish I had an ounce of his talent and soul. David you are the best that ever was!

  • @2ndDayRiffs yes he's great but dude you have to find your voice on guitar instead of trying to play like David Gilmour or for example Slash,Steve Vai etc.

  • My guess is "What do you want from me", yet there is another song I can't put my finger on too. Am I right or wrong ? Oh maybe you know I'm right ?

  • you are definitely right :) so far that's the only song I could think of which has a very similar intro to "what do you want from me"! can I ask what was the other song that you though it might be similar to this song?

  • I think the song is called "You Know I'm Right" I'm going to look it up but I think it was off the MLOR album. It seems like a lifetime ago, so I need to refresh my memory. lol

  • I think hes also right but some of the background music is very reminiscent of the music off of animals

  • @lene2free

Apart "What do you want from me", it's very similar to the central part of "Time" too...

  • Comment removed

  • @Brrrrr43

Could be the version of "What do you want from me" from P.U.L.S.E.

    Looks very similar.

  • Its a lot like "what do you want from me, maybe david took this song and tried to add more feel and deepness and that ended up being What do you want from me, IMHO

  • For me, it's like "What do you want for me?", and like "Hey you" at some parts.

  • yea it's very similar to "What Do You Want From Me" specially the opening solo!

  • some may remember the last minute and a half as an early version of one of the solos that defined floyd's career.

  • Yeah.. Pulse tour 1995.. Another Brick in the wall, last solo..

  • awesome, this is the first time i listen to .from morocco i say to our gretest david thank you very much .awesome awesome awesome........

  • I love the funky parts towards the end. Love the electric mistress flanger too!

  • One of many Gilmour's superb creations... . First I hear this... Thanks for sharing this..

  • this song could have easily been a floyd track. it has richard wright's footprints all over it with beautiful and pretty dreamy keyboards, simple floyd bass lines, even the atmosphere is exactly what one expects out of a floyd intrumental. the only thing missing from this is the floyd name and other members of the band.

  • I have always asked myself..why the great legend david gilmour never played this piece of art on a live performance... thank you my friend for posting this great dave song

  • around 1:00 to 1:10, it sounds like the intro for "What do you want from me" from the division bell album.

  • thought I was the only one noticing it lol

  • He took lots of idea from this album and use them on Division Bell.

  • nice job man :)

  • to be honest it's the song I always listen to.the footage from the movie LEGEND with David standing infront of the big screen is very cool...tnx heaps for posting this...cheers

  • awesome awesome awesome :) love his music

  • thanks for posting this. Really nicely made, and an honourable tribute to the man (the living legend) ;)

  • do u know that scene of a movie on 2:26 whats the film called

    gilmour rules

  • I guess this scene is from the movie LEGEND

  • I got the reunion pic from the Pink Floyd News website! youtube doesn't let posting any website address in here!!!
