  • They try to make the destruction of New York City and so forth the equivalent of Sherman's March to the Sea but it simply does not work. Sherman was a psycho and he pushed out in the midst of a war. The rest of the Northern Generals and all of the Southern Generals were nothing like that and, even if thirsty for revenge, I doubt any of them would have gone on a rampage of destruction.

  • your nigga soul!!!!

  • wait if blacks are slaves how was bealuh acting?

  • @misraproductions there were freed slaves in the south

  • @misraproductions She is a free slave then?

  • @misraproductions It's possible she could have been sold to the network?

  • @misraproductions Because Massa picked up her paycheck

  • An interesting fact to point out... they talk about Old Dixie becoming the new National Anthem... they didn't have a national anthem back then. Although the Star Spangled Banner had been written in 1814, it was not the official anthem until towards the end of the 19th century

  • @fed306 till 1931 actually

  • @fed306 and they didnt have talking movies in 1905 either ;)

  • The commercials is what makes this funny.

  • omg Gabe from the office

  • The WHITE House

  • 5:50- Reference to Reconstruction, Sherman's March (New York= Richmond, Boston= Cities in Georgia State), Nathan Bedford Forrest (Alt History Sherman).

  • @ShizukuSeiji Revisionist historian, you are. The British slave trade was alive and well long after our civil war. And as for WW2 you needn't look any further than London at buildings that still bear shrapnel from the Germans knocking at you door. A simple Thank You would be a more appropriate response.

  • How does an interview done around the turn of the century become a talkie movie?

  • 0:01- Reference to Thomas Jefferson escape from CSA in a Woman's dress!

  • Noteworthy how the British are always bashing Americans about none of us nor our grandparents had any part in, but ignore the fact that the English slave trade was the source of the slaves. If I become President I don't think I'll bail them out of another World War.

  • @sammydavisjrsr

Britain abolished the slave trade in 1807 and slavery in its entirety in 1834. It took America a terrible war, the loss of 600,000 lives and another 30 years to free their slaves. Blacks were segregated and despised in the south until the 1960s. That to me makes Britain the more enlightened nation.

And you didn't bail us out of any wars, we did fine on our own, thanks very much.

  • Most likely the French would have taken the south if they had won the civil war since they had taken over mexico and the southern army would'nt have standed a chance against the french army

  • This feels like something from a Doctor Who episode or something where history has gone all wrong for some reason or other.

  • Leave it to Bulah sounds like an interesting day time show

  • This is the stupidest movie ever!!!

  • In real life, Harriet Tubman died of pneumonia at old age.

  • MAAFA 21 Abortion:Black Genocide in the 20th Century

  • looks like a great life !

  • Exiled to Canada lmfao how about given the great honour of going to Canada

  • While this is a mockumentary, it's a reminder of how lucky we are to be free.

  • Yeah.. i dont think the confederacy would anexe the rest of the us.. and i dont think the confederate soliders would honestly go threw killing women and children... Sry and lee was totaly was in favor of using slaves in promise of freedom just like in the american revolution.

  • @MrLovestospoog, actually in reality, Northern Prisoners of war were treated disgustingly inhumanely by the south, so don't attach too much nobility to their actions, although burning NY and Boston after the cause was won, would seem a bit far fetched. But then again so is the whole alternate History, The South Faired suprisingly well in the Civil war, but the North had the resources and the Man power. There is no scenario that would have led to this outcome.

  • @DJH1170 Burning of Boston is reverse version of Sherman's March.

    Bedford Forrest= Sherman

    Boston= Richmond

    New York= Atlanta

  • @BreakdownExplosion88 you're a fucking retard

  • Even some people fought or supported the Confederate's freedom but not slavery,i put myself including.

  • research it tubman died of natural causes

  • Re-legalize slavery. It's inhumane to allow urban negroes to go homeless when they can be given free room and board in return for their unwaged labor.

  • its funny cuz in latin america they actually have products like "sambo" motor oil

  • gotta get me some SAMBO X-15

  • @BreakdownExplosion88

In my opinion, Man created God...God did not create Man.

  • @Medication102 There is an article in the L.A Times supporting that opinion as scientific fact.

  • @MutleeIsTheAntiGod

    Now that is cooooool!

  • Great Movie

Haunting and well researched with insight into moral decisions, regionalism, and nationalism.

    Love the advertisements.

  • Yo white guy, you can't hang with the black guys!

  • alt-Griffith sure loves physical comedy.

  • I love how this mockumentary assumes we would have been just as bad as the yankees were to us. :P

  • @MandragGanon the confederates would have been just as bad as the yankees. it's human nature. i'm southern, but i think it was good the union won. the english were going to come down from canada and take over, and the south would not have been fight them off.

  • @pucksterz12 Yeah, this must be a joke or something. Either that or someone is trying to re write history. Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't Lincoln assasinated in 1865? Yet he is interviewed supposedly in 1905 and talking movies (talkies) weren't even around until around 1920. This was completely retarded and thanks for wasting people's time whoever posted this bullshit.

  • @pucksterz12 You're a fucking idiot. This is a satirical mock documentary. imdb.com/title/tt0389828/

  • Comment removed

  • @pucksterz12 It's your own fault for watching it...if you weren't interested, you could've just clicked the back button. That's another part of your idiocy.

  • Comment removed

  • I love how they made this documantary look like someone recorded it on a local channel.

  • the south never intended to invade or conquer the north, so why did Jefferson Davis Annex it?

  • Baahahaha- "Massa Jefferson, may a no 'count darky like me axe you a queshun?" Blackface English Guy FTW!!!

  • Loooooool @ 09:21 - posh English accent! I nearly spat my tea out!

  • it would not have happened like this if the south had won the war america would simply be two different countries

  • @SuperPhsycokiller The confederates thought the same thing...

  • 09:18 good quality film for the 1940's XD

  • im watching this... but damn..... 240p... its hard man, so bad quality

  • What an odd and out of character take on Lincoln

  • Why do you people vote Democrats like Obama in when it was the Democrats who were all in favour of Slavery?

  • @HateFenians

yeah, that was 150 years ago.

  • Yeah but they should had been history today like Western slavery is.

150 years ago, scum like Bill and Hillary Clinton would have beat a black, asian and hispanic person, for not mopping up that floor fast enough.

  • @HateFenians because that was more than 100 years ago and the parties are totally different know, l2 history and politics, you must be 12

  • Democratic Party will always be seen as a party that discriminates against Black people, Abraham Lincoln a REPUBLICAN was against slavery while your KKK Democratic party wankers were racist and for slavery!

  • @HateFenians you do realize that the Democratic Party then and the Democratic Party now are just about polar opposites, right? It's the Republicans now that are trying to screw us over.

  • I'm in the UK, your politics doesn't affect me.

  • @HateFenians I hope you understand that political factions change all the time. Just because today's Republicans share the same name with the Republicans for the second half of the 1800s, does not mean they're the same.

Go wikipedia that before you say something else stupid.

  • They have never changed, the Democrats didn't want a NIGGER in the Whitehouse. Why do you think Hillary was going ape shit slandering Obama everytime she got, Clinton is a Southerner from Arkansas!

  • @HateFenians I don't give a shit if Obama's black white or purple, I hate him because he's as much of a war criminal as the last guy.

  • @HateFenians You're an idiot..

  • Goggle Clinton during Obama's campaign.

  • @HateFenians you clown the parties have changed ideologies from the wigs and federalist to the parties we have now. abe lincoln was a republican....if hilliary was going "ape shit" she wouldnt be a democrat.....oh and hilliary is not from arkansas shes from chicago....her dad was in the Mob with sam giancana.

  • @HateFenians abe lincoln was NEVER against slavery...he said if it would keep the union together he wouldnt outlaw it.

  • @HateFenians *favor (couldn't resist)

  • @HateFenians You're obviously not from the US. I'm guessing your back ground in US history is limited, bc if it weren't you would understand that the political parties of the 19thCentury are not associated with the ones today.

  • @bullettoothburrows Thank you very much!

  • the blonde in the pig tails looks hot.

  • Good thing Sherman was there to FUCK THE SOUTH UP. I mean really, he just went in there and burnt it all to the ground. God bless Sherman.

  • I really don't like how they are portraying Lincoln here, as though he only cared about freeing the slaves as an afterthought and was only using them. It's very well documented that Lincoln had been against slavery his entire life. He just saw it as an intractable problem that he saw no way of solving. Ironically, it was the secession of the South itself that made it possible for him to do what he once thought impossible. Once he had that opportunity, he took it. At the cost of his own life.

  • @ProudAnselmo Everything portrayed in this movie is 100% accurate, that's why it's a mockumentary.

  • @Zalman1337

I know what a mockumentary is, thanks. It still tries to make a point of using actual history as a reference point from which to launch the alternate history. It's misrepresenting an actual person from history and distorting a real man's character. It's not like Spinal Tap, where everyone in the movie is a fictional character where everything is fair game. They have a responsibility to be as intellectually honest as possible in respect to those aspects of the film.

  • @Zalman1337

(cont) Otherwise, I can't be expected to take the overall premise to heart, as the film maker obviously intends.

The movie has some interesting ideas and I think some of the imagery does a good job of provoking ideas that more people should be thinking about. I just thought they could have handled Lincoln's exile a little better than they did. The dude was no coward.

  • @ProudAnselmo You're welcome, just making sure that you take everything as seriously as it was meant to be.

  • @Zalman1337

Why don't you eat a dick and take that seriously.

  • @ProudAnselmo You were doing so well until 'eat a dick'. *golf clap*

  • @cuntylishus

I thought that's where it all really came together, myself.

  • @ProudAnselmo

It's written from the POV of the CSA / BBS.

History is written by the victor.

  • @GoMISSINGO

The part I'm referring to is the "filmed interview" of old Lincoln prior to his death. They wouldn't have written that part. It's supposed to be Lincoln in his own words and it just isn't consistent with what we know of Lincoln.

  • JohnBullocks and TheColeYounger, you both are retards.

    Good day.

  • @JohnBullocks If that ever happens your black ass will be either in jail, dead from gang violunce or dead from AIDS. So keep dreaming Nigger.

In 1850 people paid a fortune for niggers. Now you couldn't get 1 cent for one.

  • there was no sound in films in 1905 lol

  • @rabidsushi most of that goes with the catholic church. we mostly have baptist

  • @JohnBullocks Excuse me, I didn't do anything to you, you strange, violent man. If you would advocate the killing of innocents you are worse than your enemies, because you didn't learn from their mistakes. Take the place of the killer and you'll be killed, in turn.

  • Ha ha! Lincoln as an old man 2:39.

  • haha, that blackface part was absolutely ridiculous

  • The South annexes the whole US? What a bunch of BS...

  • @Purplecatsoup30 At least that's more likely than Dixie replacing the national anthem X)

  • Even if it's satire, you can't base your satire on bullshit. it makes your satire bullshit

  • If you question Lincoln's motives you are called a racist. It's pretty clear he was a racist and a statist. He offered slavery as an incentive to not leave the Union! Ultimately though, the problem was government. Two governments fought and killed a half million people. Anarchy is the only philosophy that actually offers freedom.

  • @VictoryCough

"If you question Lincoln's motives you are called a racist. It's pretty clear he was a racist and a statist."

As was just about everybody else at that time.

At that time the position that all races should live as equals with equal rights was seen as an extremist, fringe position, unfortunately.

  • @MisterGibs: "At that time the position that all races should live as equals with equal rights was seen as an extremist, fringe position, unfortunately."

Yep, that was the opinion that was pushed by the status quo in those days.

  • The CSA didn't want to annex the USA. It wanted to be independent.

  • @fedelede2 This is also a problem I had with the premise of this too. By itself the CSA would have no interest in occupying the north. However, if the CSA was receiving aid from the British and French, the superpowers of that time, it would pretty much be their bitch. Similar to proxy nations for the US and USSR in the Cold War. In that case, a double attack on the north from the CSA and Canada would be possible to re-establish full British control of America.

  • this is dumb. who ever made it needs to be shot

  • This is so dumb. It's just getting people mad about things that didn't happen. African-Americans have every right to remember their past and how they fought for their freedoms, and they should be proud Americans for it. But to enrage people about something that didn't happen is just bad for everyone.

  • Well, this is interesting, if terribly slanted...

The North and West--where I live--are NOT like that...

    And neither is the South...

But that's why it's called a mockumentary, eh? ;) (I'm just glad it's only THAT...)

  • Sooo.... this is what would have happened if Texas ruled the place.

  • @100littlecurses Texas had very little influence in the CSA I seriously doubt the greedy bastards on the east coast would have given us any more.

  • it is an interesting scenario, though very fictional and unrealistic in case the South had won. additionally, it was actually the Union Army which in the late months of the war destoyed Southern cities. Lee had indeed freed his slaves before the war even started!! a lot of CSA general were against slavery, of course many supported it. finally keep in mind that about 1 in 10 (statistics are contradictory but usually it's from 6 to 13%) free citizens of the short-lived CSA owned slaves...

  • ...so Lincoln was the first black president!

  • an idiotic film based on historical inaccuracies.

  • @amdsoccer94 name them

  • @cmydna1) the south didnt go to war because of slavery. that is bullshit. 1 in 10 southerners owned slaves, and slavery was on its way out in the south anyway.

    2) the south wasnt some evil land, they were more godly than the north.

    3) the south didnt want to conquer the north, they wanted their freedom, not to rule the world.

    4) the south wouldnt have tried and imprisoned lincoln

    5) there are many more but im running out of characters

  • @amdsoccer94 please dont act like it aint debatable. there some bloody obvious things you somehow disagree with and a few good points. im alergic to polemists and conspiracy theorists tho so im getting a bit irked by your certainties here.

  • @cmydna1 im sick of people insulting the brave men who fought for our states rights. the south was illegally invaded. im not a conspiracy theorist, i just respect my confederate ancestors. please, point out my obvious mistakes.

  • @amdsoccer94 actually. its kinda interesting. i just think theres a tendancy to be like ...ok this works for me so il fling it in there, rather than oh k this is bullshit i wont quote that, this is true tho,

are you driven be accuracy or bias opportunism.

  • @cmydna1 there is some truth, but much of this movie is based off stereotypical CSA

  • @amdsoccer94 well heres the thing. its a mockumentary. its interesting but its never gonna be ...''things would have been better....'' its a political animal not an exercise in accuracy and fair prediction.

  • @amdsoccer94 also i thinks theres some interesting things. like lincolns racism etc.

  • @amdsoccer94

"slavery was on its way out"

    That is BS.

The CSA enshrined slavery in its constitution:

"No bill of attainder, ex post facto law, or law denying or impairing the right of property in negro slaves shall be passed"

The VP of the CSA, Alexander Stephens said:

" Our new Government... its foundations are laid, its cornerstone rests, upon the great truth that the negro is not equal to the white man; that slavery, subordination to the superior race, is his natural and moral condition."

  • @MisterGibs very few southerners see any other race and inferior, and those who do are called dumbasses

  • @amdsoccer94

"2) the south wasnt some evil land, they were more godly than the north."

What does godliness have to do with morality?

  • @MisterGibs christianity and morality generally go hand in hand

  • Comment removed

  • thank god the South was crushed in the Civil War. Even today, the Red States are those who pay least tax dollars and leech most federal aid.

  • Thank God for the Savannah Campaign

  • Movie-themed commericals are 1000x better than actual commericals.

  • LOL the Shakespearean actor in blackface

  • wait america was like this until the 70s

  • @sleazypig And that was a bad thing?

  • @sleazypig yur fucking stupid

  • I love how this movie mixes things real and unreal! For example;

-The silent movie is clearly a parody of the real D.W. Griffith film "Birth of a Nation".

-The "march" of Robert E. Lee into the North which results in the destruction of New York City is clearly mirrored after Sherman's March(with Lee saying the famous Sherman quote "War is Hell".

-Robert E. Lee, although the South's greatest defender, was himself not in favor of slavery at all. Only fighting for his homeland.

  • @1215ra Hurrrrr yous a smart man!

  • riiiiiight

like it would actulally be like that if they won

  • To all historical buffs: yes, there are glaring historical inaccuracies in this dramatization but it's just an idea taken to an extreme level. Like the family guy episode of alternate universes. If Japan had won the war would we all be Japanese? Would the fabric of our society completely change? No. They'd lose on our terrain due to distance and blah blah blah. I know it isn't as bad of an inaccurate portrayal but you get what I mean, right?

  • Are the southerners really racist?

    That's what I always hear!

  • @imsuchalard No, it's just a stereotype. We're actually a bit more tolerant than states with less of a minority population.

There are racists everywhere. You just have to deal with it. I'm not a fan of the Confederate flag because I believe it signifies an economic dependence on slavery and a cling to desperate "superiority" but there are still stores that proudly advertise that they sell shirts and logos with the flag on it.

We still have gay students and a diverse population. :)

  • @psycat4ever oh thanks

  • @imsuchalard I can't say for sure about the deep south though. I'm close enough to Charleston and Mt. Pleasant to say I'm near society. In the backwoods area...yeah, I don't trust red necks.

At a fourth of July event a couple years back I was walking around, killing time before the fireworks started. A little blond kid, a maximum age of 2, stumbles in front of me, with little blue eyes shimmering. I smile at him, he smiles back, lifts his hand and says: "White power!"

    I'm a tan asian: I ran.

  • @psycat4ever haha dumb kid

  • @imsuchalard no

  • hahahahahaha this is a joke. who funds these movies? yankees need to get their facts straight. loong live tha south

  • @The7Pimp the south lost pussy!! Fuck those racist slave owning pigs...you fucken dixie shitheads you lost and you know it!!! worthless embarassment to the rest of our fine nation!!!!

  • @Jamesparker19751this is clearly an exaggeration jack ass. of course were in embarrasment, because were different than you faggots up north. come down south and mouth off like that to anyone. see what happens

  • @The7Pimp Ya you guys are different as in illiterate hillbilly rednecks who had freaken Jim Crow and apartheid laws up until a few decades ago!! Ya you're different as in the poorest part of the nation..ya you're different as the home of the extremist dixie backward Republicans!!! You're different alright...different in a "special" way..I'll say whatever I want and I have said it down in Alabama and Georgia and South Carolina..Now I met some good southerners..you're right..but meet more asses!

  • @Jamesparker19751975 and we arent racist anymore check your facts brah!

  • @The7Pimp first off I was airborn infantry stationed in the deep south and got in more than a FEW bar fights with local yocals!!! SECOND you aren't racist anymore? REALLY? Well that one governor and GOP presidential hopeful who recently was connected to the KKK...That one truck lynching of that black kid through Texas...The fact you fly the stupid nazi cross...err..I mean southern cross in states like South Carolina...Ya not all of you are racist I know and admit..but enough are to shame you.

  • @The7Pimp no not long live the south the south is a terrible place especially if ur me and gay and every where u turn u see that disgusting southern flag

  • @jackthayer so what? maybe you shouldnt go around acting like a fucking fruit and people bug you. The flag is a symbol of our southern heritage, its not racist, its not anything people these days try to make it out to be. I dont know what state you live in but you should probably meet a couple southerners before you stereotype us all. and if you dont like it , you can get the fuck out!!

  • @LtKar i have met southerns espically those proud of such a flag and yes it is racist do u have any idea what history is behind that flag?

  • "Old Popsy" omg LOL

  • this is the dumbest piece of bullshit ive ever seen

  • sorry, no talkies in 1905

  • @astroclast Also, Lincoln had a heart issue and most likely cancer...He wouldn't have made it to 1870 let alone 1905 where he'd have been nearing 100 years old.

  • Those Yankee bastards did that to the South and walked away. Raped every vestige of prosperity after the war. Lincoln got what he deserved. I highly doubt the history of the C.S.A would have gone like this described. I did like it though, good interpretation.

  • @KeiPyn24 @KeiPyn24 YOU LOST YOU SOUTHERN PIG AND YOU DESERVED THE RAVAGES US YANKEES COMMITTED ON YOU YOU FUCKEN SLAVE OWNING PIGS!!! YOU RACIST 1800'S NAZIS..I served in the deep south and I never meet a more disgusting group of backward racist hillbillies in my LIFE!! Thank god we DESTROYED the south for going against our fine constitution..it says in our Constitution there shall be no armed rebellion..you shit on it! you deserved the steel!

  • this is hilarious :D

  • Facepalm 1: The war wasn't about slavery. It's a pure lie.

Facepalm 2: Lincoln wasn't an emancipator, he was a fascist who 'freed the slaves' to legitimise his war.

Facepalm 3: That is NOT the Confederate flag. That's the Confederate battle standard. Fail.

Facepalm 4: These people did not do their homework. At all.

  • @ParadigmShiftr - There are some documents that you can find online that make it clear that several states in the South left the Union because Lincoln was anti-slavery.
