And one of the lowest crime rates in the world are in scandinavia where the punishments are close to none. Instead it's rehabilitation, which works!

But the most overrepresented group in Swedish prisons are Muslims (even though they are about 5 % of the population.) Not Christians. Not Atheists. It's Muslims.

Rape is not adultery.. if the woman or man is able to proof the rape then the accused shall be punished. The punishment of rape is bigger than the adultery's. her no need for 4 witnesses since someone got hurt.

Four witnesses is required (in adultery) from the third person to proof that the 1st and 2nd person (others) has committed adultery. So it is not easy to say these two people has committed adultery (hard to speak about others).

@shar3ooob really a rather archaic system of law. You don't base punishment on the words of a prophet. You base it on law. Under real law, one person can be a witness, they are called private investigators.

Islam din't speak about every particular problem in life.. it has given general rules to be followed in life and specify some cases with details,, Adultery is a special case and rape is under a general rule.

do human rules reduced the rape crimes?? we in middle east have the lowest rate of rape crimes , it is low even if we multiply the rate by 2 or 3.

At the end only practicing shows the effectiveness of the rule.

@shar3ooob Because the deterring factor is fear of losing a body part, in America, we don't do that. Sharia Law will never be allowed to be practiced or be allowed as a defense strategy in an legislative court of law.

@shar3ooob That is a fair statement I must admit, but CAIR is suing Oklahoma for passing a voter approve amendment to the state's constitution banning Sharia We have the First Amendment guaranteeing your right to worship as you please. We DO NOT however acknowledge any judicial system within your faith if said system violates any laws of the land. (i.e. chopping off hands etc.)

I din't omit anything. i was speaking about Islam not about middle East. Don't mix Islam with ME culture. I explained the Islamic view of rape and adultry not if it is reported or not. Here in ME the culture is the reason of not reporting the rape cases, it is a big shame specially for the woman.

Not everything done by middle Easterns is Islam. People don't know enough about thire religion. It is because of the war against Islam and the political support of the extremists.

Part A: Asking the rich to give to the poor is a very noble solution to decrease poverty, which is the number one cause of crime.

Part B: Chopping off a persons hand creates a climate of fear and does not allow the criminal to resume a normal life....ever.

Part B obviously relies on Part A to seem less barbaric, however, Part A MUST be met FIRST before Part B should ever be implemented.

Unfortunately, it is much easier for people to cut off others hands then it is to donate their money.

the punishment sounds reasonable. it certainly fits the crime. it also prevents theft. obviosly the suspect must be tried first.

But the US has the death sentence (at least in some states) whats the real difference? Its kinda obvious but do you really think theft in America would be anywhere near the current rate if they got caught, this happened, instead of suspended sentences or community work which are a joke. No.

If chopping a thief wrists is barbaric let me tell you what happens afterward: Thief gets punishment in this life, and it saves him/her more frightening punishment in the afterlife.
