  • Did you modify your 78 rpm phonograph head?

    I have never seen Edison records played by a regular phonograph like this!

  • Just rewired a stereo cartridge to lessen noise from scratches. I knew it would work because an early stereo amplifier I used to own had a switch to reverse the polarity so they could play Path and Diamond Disc records like this.

  • It's not quite normal but it is shellac. It's an Edison Diamond Disc. The grooves are cut to move the needle up and down instead of side to side so light shines off them a little differently than other records. Thanks for the comment.
