I believe every video of this song on youtube makes the following mistakes: 1) They dont "scoop" up into the first note 2) the male amazing grace section never stresses the Macrobeat 3) the alto/soprano section doesn't sound exited enough and can never hot the notes correctly. Or, if you think the director should choose how to sing the song, 1) Youre insane, and 2) youre insane
I agree that there are 2 ways to attempt gospel music. Many go traditionally "white" in choral produciton. I'd prefer to hear this piece performed in an authentic "black gospel" style. This group by far comes closest to this sound production towards the end of the piece. I did enjoy this director's take with the hand claps, but felt really awkward watching all the enthnic performers singing so controlled during the first 1/2 of the piece.
Yall put the thang on this song!!!!!!!!!! it was good especially the end. Im glad someone didn't screw this song up. I accompanied it for my chorus in Middle school. Yall are the only ones I've heard up here that didn't screw this song up. Thank you!!!! Its beautiful!
