@roninslam With a dump flatbed setup like that a short bed is usually more stable,
I have a 1960's two ton farm truck with a similar setup but a long bed so when there's wight on the front of the bed When you dump it, it can twist your bed or tip the truck over.
Really nice truck and dump bed set up! But why is the bed so short?
